Good video, though wish you used gallons or liters instead of saying 30cm tank or 50cm, etc... Given tanks come in different shapes and sizes, the volume of water would be a better way to describe size.

Why not shift to inline diffusers for the tanks that you run canister filters on ?
@BRSfresh
@BRSfresh 2 дня назад
Inline diffusers are great options as well. More efficient when it comes to dissolving the gas in the aquarium and if you don’t like the look in your tank that’s the way to go

I just did a fish-in substrate change and re-scape in my tank. Did it in two phases, replaced half one week and did the rest the following week to avoid crashing the tank. I rinsed filter media in the tank water and did water change the day after each, and I placed an ammonia remover media in the filter chamber that I left in running a week after. So far so good!

I’ve found cutting the bottom off a soda or water bottle and the filling it with soil works a treat. I keep the top on the bottle while filling it with soil. Then, I take the top off, put my thumb over the opening, and lower it into the water. When I’m where I want to be, I remove my thumb, and the soil goes right where I want it.

I'm not using CO2 diffuser as my CO2 is DIY that is not able to penetrate the ceramic diffuser So I use a better method and that is mixer, ISTA has it, CO2 mixmax, but I make it my own with powerhead, and a bottle. I know it is bad in appearance, but you can just put it behind, and let your plants hide it

A few things for people on a budget. Fzone distributes the exact same regulators UNS does but for a fraction of the price. Secondly, don't spend $160 on a white UNS cylinder. Just buy a vevor for $50 and spend all these savings on your second tank :D

I tried few only sand will create big problems down the road so if you wanna have to pick one among pick Aquasoil but there is another option too mix used Aquasoil and small gravels mixed on bottom and top it up with sand and also depends on what kinda fish you planing to keep there are lots of cichlids who are well known for being massive diggers
@BRSfresh
@BRSfresh Месяц назад
No doubt - sand can be beautiful but more difficult to clean and the compression from the water weight can create those anaerobic pockets which can be troublesome. If you’re going with pure sand, keep it shallow. Just enough to cover the bottom plus 1/4” can help. Love the mix look - we did that in our riverbed build and it’s very cool.

A really good fish that eats BBA is the Florida Flag Fish. When I had BBA take over my tank (the one and only time, and I don’t do CO2), I treated my whole tank with hydrogen peroxide 3% (SeaChem Flourish Excel did nothing for me) and after 2 weeks of dosing (you can get the dose inline) I was about ready to give up and tear down my tank. I then read about Florida Flag Fish, and I found some at my LFS so I gave it go. I had tried other algae eaters and wasn’t impressed. I put the Flagfish into my tank and after about 2 to 3 weeks. They went crazy on the BBA and I had it all over the plants, lights and tubes, even on my hardscape. I now keep a gang of Flagfish that can help me with all my tanks if needed, so far they haven’t been needed again. I also, don’t have iron or dose iron and I still got BBA. I highly recommend Flagfish if you are fighting BBA.
