stayed at cottage in the wood hotel, hired a 4 seater morgan, in about 2010 at Malvern. Good fun around the back lanes, no fun on main roads (tucked in behind lorries), back hurt at end of day. Heavy rain first day caused condensation on inside of screen, too dodgy to drive until rain dried off. Very enjoyable overall, worth the experience and the tour, wouldnt want to own one (fifty years wanting one). I no longer want a Ducati either. Would like to hire the 3 wheeler for a day. Day to day drive a bmw 7 series, so like the comfort and quiet. Enjoyable and nostalgic video.
Morgan do the servicing. The BMW bits are all ‘plug in and play’, so it’s straight forward enough to do the normal bits during a service. It’s the ‘Morgan’ bits that need a greater focus, so going to the people that bolted it together seems the right route.
Thank you very much Julian for this "One day at the Factory"🤩🙏. I' ve spent one great hour with you & Spencer. I don' t know if I like the 3 Wheelers or not, I am waiting to see it for real bit I loved the old generation so much Spencer's hardtop is fitting divinely 😍 His Plus Four is one of the prettiest Plus Four in 🇬🇧 in my taste. The LM62 is a great spec too. Thank you for posting such a great content.
Oh the insulation. A pain in the arse when the wind get under it and it disappears across the drive in one uncontrollable sheet. Morgan workshops are really quite inspiring.
Nice video. I drove a Plus Six in 2020, and also a MY23 car last year. Completely failed to check out the luggage space both times, so nice to see more inside your car. The earlier car definitely changed gear too often at low speeds, but the 23 car was great fun even in standard Auto mode!
The auto being sorted makes wafting around so much easier. Even sport feels subtle in its changes. Sport Plus pushes the revs to a shouty level. Best on track.
Really enjoyed that. Makes me want to make a return to Morgan ownership. I do miss mine - quirks and all. And - it’s an Old English Sheepdog, by the way.
Thank you so much for posting this video! Always great to see Spencer, like a lion captured in the jungle, but without a pint in his hands. Wish we could get the 6 in the states :(
If there is a system telling us how the things are, so the "Best" guys who don't "deserve it" that actually be in the place, are just the perfect guys, the perfect role, the onlyones that deserve it. The system put them there, and they act the role.
Hi Jules, can i ask what year you left the school (and which Form you were in when you left)? Also the guys accompanying you... I was at SDC 1984-1995, remember the old house ties being worn by boys in the main school when i was in the Prep. Department, but we moved to the 4-house system sometime around 1987 i think (Forder, Hecker, Stuart, Usherwood). I remember many of the places you guys walked around, and will probably try to visit later this year for the first time in 20-odd years... Thanks for sharing your experiences!
Great video. I sold my Roadster 4 years ago and I’m now thinking of buying the new Plus 4. Is the ride a suspension much better with the new chassis? Many thanks.
The new 2024 Plus Four is going to feel like all your dreams have come true. The chassis, suspension, brakes, engine…. All so so much better. You’ll love it. The Plus Six is a different beast altogether. A monster of a car.
Thank you very much. I’m test driving one early next week. It’s had the recall for the brakes and a new radiator which comes with a factory 2 year warranty. I hoping that’s fixed the problem, which I understand is a concern for potential owners.
I had a LM62 Plus Four. Had the recall for the brakes and radiator. I didn’t experience any issues after completion. Are you going manual or auto. If auto, use the paddles. The gear box isn’t calibrated to the weight of the plus four (prob the Z4), this means it jumps about a bit at low speeds. the resistance is so low the box can’t decide on the best gear. This isn’t an ‘issue’ just makes for a slightly smoother ride at times. I had the manual, which I really liked. Gearing is long though, not sure I ever used 6th.
Thanks again, this is so helpful. It’s the auto as I hoped the box would preform like it does in my BMW. I now think I need to try the manual as well. The Roadster was great but it was just so tiring a ride and with the chassis/ suspension setup I could never really explore the engine to its true capacity especially with my driving skill set!
Love the effort but man, would have loved to see this in landscape mode. Portrait mode does give you more height, but the dales deserve landscape mode 😅
Would love if you did another video on your Morgan, you make the best reviews on RU-vid for this car. Could you make a video that mentions the seats and your opinion on them for long journeys?
Imagine being so incompetent as a driver that you spend your time making up issues to justify your own existence. Absolutely nothing wrong with driving the middle lane at speed. Left is for fkn losers driving under the limit, middle for speed limit cruise control chads, and right for speeding pricks or overtaking losers who should have been in the left
To those who say just overtake them, they can't because another car in the 3rd lane is about to overtake. There shouldn't have to be these rules, be nice to one another and follow them
And how exactly do you know there is a car in lane 3, given that it doesn't appear? And the poster can move into lane 2 to follow the mystery overtaker if he wants to pass.
@@DM-ur8vc That is what happened last time I was in that situation in that situation and does happen... that is why the rule exists not just to be courteous to fellow road users.
@@AO-ku7zt Please tell us you don't drive based on assumptions? Drivers can only pass in lanes 2 or 3 IF it is safe to do so. In this case, passing in lane 3 is available. The pick-up isn't being discourteous as there is no one stuck behind him.
Agreed - it's quite common to see some numpty doing 60mph in the middle lane on a busy motorway, oblivious to people going round them - but this isn't that. This is a very quiet stretch of motorway. The pick-up isn't impeding anyone. The poster is either a pedant or more likely, posting 'controversial' stuff to get arguments / clicks.
I drive in middle lane it’s not against the law and just so you know the inside lane has ruts in it and vans can get stuck in them and can be angerous these ruts are caused by artic Lorrie’s so stop your mianing the motorway is empty and your not the best driver on the road
@@stephenhollingsworth2530 what that driver in your video is doing is not against the law you absolute moan bag. The road was clear and he was not stopping any other driver from overtaking him the outside is clear you are pathetic for even putting a video like this up. There’s probably a slip lane coming up or just gone it’s probably you impeding merging drivers or forcing artic Lorry’s to overtake
Literally against the law, one of the first things you learn on your theory. Its honestly not hard. If the quality of the road is poor, report it, they can't fix what they don't know
then when there is a batch of traffic, it all backs up as everyone is needlessly squeezed into one lane. I've seen it cause long queues in the past. These people suck
Yeah, it's an empty motor way... Even less reason for them to be there. Also, no need to go around them as you can legally undertake them if they're doing under the speed limit.
@@stephenhollingsworth2530 'If' they're under the speed limit - which the poster doesn't mention and the video doesn't look like it. BTW - the HWC code says you can only pass on the left in congested conditions.
@@DM-ur8vc 100% guarentee you they do the same thing when there is traffic and they should pull over. What this video shows is this driver is someone who causes traffic by doing that. Literally one of the first things you learn for your theory is that the normal running lane is the left lane. They are not following the official rules of driving. Why are you even arguing this? Are you a middle lane driver? Too lazy to look over your shoulder and put your indicator on, turn the wheel a tad? Middle lane driving is incredibly dumb, forcing people to cross two lanes to overtake them legally, not to mention selfish behaviour. Its really simple and easy to drive properly... As the other commentor wrote, its a clear motorway right where they are, so absolutely no excuse to not pull in
Thanks Julian. This is such an important subject. Great to hear from others with their experiences. Please keep them coming (as well as your excellent car stuff!).
Thanks for all your Morgan videos. Still on the waiting list (2+ years now) for a new PlusFour if they ever actually arrive here. Driving my '69 four place 4/4 with an HPE motor and five speed until then. Cheers.
We just missed you guys (not a Morgan owner but follow Spencer for his amazing photography) and hit the Green Dragon as well as Tan Hill Inn. Gita make sure you guys take care on those small Dales backroads and slow down a bit. Saw a pretty bad wreck.
I just love the soundtrack of your plus 6. TBH, I struggled to keep up with Jann, but I keep telling myself it's because she had an automatic gearbox...
You should always drive your own drive. Doesn’t matter if someone else is faster, it’s about having fun within your own limits. Anyway, you’ll be at Goodwood on circuit next year to test the limits 👍🏻😆
Super super cool roadtrip Julian across the Dales🤩👌🇬🇧 I am Spencer follower on Instagram & that was a great surprise 4 me to see that you knew each other. Can' t wait to see the part 2. I follow you since you were a Plus Four owner (and recently on Insta) and each time I am watching each time It makes me want another Morgan 😉😂
@@julian_theviews Plus Four for the USA has dragged on forever. I hope Morgan has sorted out the leaking radiator issue that have plagued recent Plus cars.
This is the day and age we live in, idiots running councils and government and they don't even know how to spell common sense. Well done for showing the idiots up.
@@julian_theviews It is later in the year this year which is a shame. The other good one is Castle Combe with Richard Thorne as often open pit lane - not sure on date. I've not managed to get on track yet this year.
Man… i can feel your happiness and Joy! The car is amazing, and the color is simply stunning. Can i ask you the drive feeling? I’Ve a 911 and i’m thinking of it.
I have a 992 4s. The refinement and accomplished nature of the Porsche is head and shoulders shoulders above a Morgan. It’s not a Morgan though. There is something very special about a Morgan….and the current engine and gearbox makes it insanely fast.
Lovely video and Morgans are fabulous, just a small point if I may...Mal-vern as you say..is pronounced Moll-vern..like malt loaf..mollvern..Malvern... great footage and enjoy your new toy!! Thanks for the footage.
Just some tweaks on the fitting and I have a slight leak in the hard top where the window is fitted. Normal hand built adjustments and prob just some sealant glue application needed.
