That's weird... When I first played chess, I would always try to get my rook out first, since in my head, the rook was the strongest piece. And I always played against people that were able to think ahead at least 3 moves with every single piece, where I had no idea about basic strategies, like castling and reconnaissance.
I think your parents either got married or lied about being married to be the first GM husband and wife. Or maybe reporters made that up to write headlines.
Haha Anna i’m the crazy chess Girl too! Ipeople asked me if i was drunk, told me i was babaric, and they’ve called me a beast. But honesty, wouldn’t change the Way i Play, i like to Play weird and maybe bad openings to proove people wrong, sometimes just to have fun.
Pia you played a great game. The end game mistake of not going for a queen cost you the game. I always try to have my pawns in there half of the board ready to queen. Who am i to tell a Grand Master like your mum. Easy to know after the fact. Keep going your still a great player.
20:18 Black queen could have forked white rook & knight ? Black lost at at 20;19 -should have pushed queen instead of rook to f-7 could then of cleared white pawns on B & A file. Of course hind sight is 20-20🤠
The Soviets used to love adjournments. Back in the day of Philidor matches could go for months and people often lost due to exhaustion and/or ill health.
