If I am spraying colored gelcoat on an object I am coating, can I spray Duratec Sunshield over the gelcoat before it’s cured? With adding wax to the Sunsheild as I would a final layer of gelcoat.
@patrickbell3446 you can spray it after the gel coat tacks up, but it shouldn't be needed. The gel coat has a gloss finish and is naturally UV resistant. If you do, Sunshield topcoat is formulated to cure without wax and is not needed.
I made some carbon fiber cosmetic infusion parts. You said not to use it with epoxy parts. Can I ruff the surface and spray with a 1:1 blend of high gloss additive?
It is not recommended to use with Epoxy. If you are looking for a clear coat to use with Epoxy we would recommend Duratec Sunshield Topcoat: www.fibreglast.com/product/Duratec_Sunshield it attaches well to Epoxy and will give you the durability as well!

When using this in mold, do I allow it to fully cure before applying prepreg epoxy carbon? Do I start the laminate layup when the clear is still tacky? Do I allow it to fully cure then sand it so the carbon fiber layup will stick to it? I don't see an answer to that on your website.
Apologies for the late response! This will start hardening in about 20 minutes at 77°F and will be ready for the application of reinforcement in about an hour at that temp. Please keep in mind that different temps will increase or decrease that time.
Thanks for reaching out. Kevlar is difficult to cut, even as a fabric. To cut the fabric a brand new serrated blade scissor is ideal. To cut a finished Kevlar Composite part you will need at least a diamond blade. Keep in mind these blades will wear very quickly, it is best to use a designated blade and to carry spares.
Apologies for the late response! You can use this to make carbon fiber tubes. You will need a mandrel, release film or mold release, and a good resin like our System 2000 Epoxy.
Apologies for the late response! The best working environment for the clays is 125-135°F and they will handle a max temp of 200°F. This will allow use as a plug depending on the exotherm temperatures of your gelcoat or resin you are using to make the mold.
Apologies for the late response! There are ways to help extend work times. If possible, cooling the area to temps below 77°F but higher than 65°F can help. MEKP is usually added to the gel coat at 1.5%. You can back down a drop or two to increase the work time though we caution you as you can get too low to cure properly.

We in the industry since the 60"s know what wetting out(when it comes to resins and epoxies) wood, foams, fibers, etc., mean, and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with water. Not very good at armchair quarterbacking are you.

I recently purchased a folded package of Peel-Ply from you and the folds in the cloth made it impossible to get smooth as they kept rising back up. I was left with a checkerboard of ridges and valleys to grind down or fill in. Made more trouble than it was worth.
Kevlar was invented early 20th C while trying to fix a problem, saw this on mysteries at the museum, kling film is another . A scientist was trying to find an alternative to the massive amount of steel in car tyres at the time.
Thank you for your comment. Bondo is a polyester resin based filler whereas this adhesive is an epoxy providing more strength and a better bond. This video was meant to show the versatility of the adhesive. We appreciate you watching!
