Hey there, I'm Victoria, a 31-year-old based in Oslo, Norway. I'm currently balancing a 9-5 office job and RU-vid while creating a life I love. Follow my journey and get to know me through my vlogs!
Hi! Victoria❤️wow ! Your house so so clean😍how can you keep that clean? Oh you know what I am always being alone most of time so.. just enyoy it your time 🤗 love your vlog as always!
@@VictoriaSagely Thank you for always replying. You are a very calm and sweet person ...I think. I am very opposite, 😅so. Watching your vlogs always makes me feel calm and relax👍Thank you!
😅 he he, same here. When I’m rereading a book or rewatching an all time favorite tv series, I save the ending altogether until I have a ‘good day’ so I am mentally strong enough to make it through😂. Love your vlog! 😊
Takk for hyggelig kommentar!
One of my best friends is from Norway and I love watching your videos to see areas she has been to! There are so many places in Norway on my bucketlist now ❤ Also, your English is excellent and I'd have no idea that you weren't always a confidently fluent speaker. Lots of love from Ireland! 😊
i GOT addicted to your vlogs :) enjoy it while eating!!! and appreciate what are you doing that effort and showing that real life (work, cleaning) and we not have to be aesthetic just enjoying every thing NB the earphones look so good with the grey :)
When pop eggs the small amount of vinegar you wont taste, it helps to set the egg whites when placing. Stir your water fairly vigorously prior to adding the eggs and they will stay more uniform shape . It looks yummy .
the dish looks so good! My mom is coming to visit for a week, I love our relationship - it took years to settle but I'm super happy to spend any time with her <3
Wow, you are wearing a sweater at home. Is it cold over there? I just traveled to Norway when we lived in Germany; that is a pretty long time ago, though. I like your kitchen🤗
It can be chilly sometimes during winter and spring, but we mostly keep the indoor temperature at 24 °C. I did get a bit warm filming this, but I didn’t want to take off the cute cardigan 😁 thank you!
14:46 lol you have came to a word that divides America. I never know which to say and immediately switch pronunciation if the person I am speaking with gives me a side eye
I think expecting to speak like an American is a bit unrealistic because, and I am assuming here, you don’t have the exposure to the dialect/accent that one needs to pick up on it. As an American many of us can tell, and I think it goes for almost anyone else too, when someone is forcing themselves to have an accent. It just sounds unnatural and pretentious, far safer and more authentic to speak in your own natural accent ☺️. And to further complicate matters, which American accent? I presume that we are talking about USA. What is American accent to you? Boston/New England accent? South? Midwest? West Coast? South Cali and Valley Girl? I am missing a couple I am sure. Also to be completely honest, part of me gets a little sad when I see how much US media has proliferated and other people’s accent start to sound like us from consuming so much US media. I love hearing other people’s accent when they speak english. You don’t know how unique it is to us.
Thank you, really appreciate this comment! It's difficult to say what kind of American accent I mean (within USA), but I think most Norwegians just want to sound good (whatever that means). The Norwegian English accent is often made fun of here in Norway, so no one wants to speak like that. Petter Solberg is often used as an example of this way of speaking, there are many RU-vid videos on "Petter Solberg English". As you say, it's better to speak in your own natural accent, but the problem is that I'm still trying to find my accent. As English is not my native language and I've never lived abroad, it can be challenging to find a way to speak that sounds natural to me. I don't know if that makes sense. Since childhood, we've been watching American TV shows and movies, which has essentially set the standard for us, and can be difficult to live up to. As I have grown older, I have come to the realization that it is very unrealistic to sound American. When I realized that, I finally felt brave enough to create this channel and not be so hard on myself. Things are going pretty well, even if my English is not perfect, which is a relief!
@@VictoriaSagely I have never heard of him so I looked him up and I have to say y’all must have some strong internal insecurity about how you speak 😅. He sounds intelligible and perfectly fine, very European accent but that is to be expected. I think the accent many people mean when they think “American” is this really middle of nowhere America that has almost no character. I call it TV accent, you can hardly tell anything about it except that is very exportable to overseas. Some Canadians have it until they say “bag” or “about” and it betrays them 😂. My fav US accent is the Southern drawl or Texan. I wanna say “bless your heart” with a strong southern accent to anyone that annoys me and just watch their face fall 😈 When I was younger I read this children’s story about a crow that saw these graceful swans, he tried to mimic their walk and grace. He couldn’t quite get it and tried to go back to his crows, they asked him why he walked like that. He ended up forgetting how he walked naturally. I remind myself of that story whenever I see people -especially on social media. A reminder to be authentic and myself. Another perspective I am not sure you might have thought about is how reassuring seeing you speak with your accent will be to other folks for whom English isn’t their first/primary language. You speak much more carefully than we do and at a slower pace which is very helpful for people to understand. I think that is a major plus and a brownie point for speaking in your natural pace and accent. If that is important to you then I think that is something to ponder upon ☺️. Also, how do like the bread-maker? I have been contemplating buying one but have never taken the plunge 🤭
Yes, we really do have a strong insecurity, haha. Not everyone experiences it, though; mostly the younger generation or people my age, because teens nowadays are even better at speaking English than we are. I agree with your point that speaking at a slower pace makes it much easier for all the non-native English speakers to understand. I like that! I'm loving the bread maker! It originally belonged to my parents, who never ended up using it. Its usefulness really depends on your needs and how determined you are to use it regularly. I like to make not only bread but also buns and pizza dough with it. I find it quicker to use and easier to clean than bringing out my kitchen machine 😊
This is the first time I've seen your channel and I fell in love with it! your videos are very beautiful and relaxing and you seem so nice 💞🫂 Sending love 🫶🏻 Sorry if i said anything wrong english is not my first language
What do you use to heat your home ? Here in Falkland BC we have Natural Gas for our hot water and heat and Hydro for electricity. We have an average 4 bedroom 2 level house, 3 bath and 2 levels. We live rurally in one of the subdivision we have 25 homes . I have our gas and hydro bills set up,so we have the same payment every month and at the end of the year we usually get a bit back. Our gas is $90 a month and Hydro is $68.
My day usually starts at 04:30-04:30 , we live rurally and I like to give my self 60 min for travel which usually takes me 30 min, we have all 4 seasons and during the winter travelling can be slower due tot he snow and road conditions. Our summers are hot .
It is very enjoyable to se how other peoples lives are different but the same as yourself. I am a Care Aide for 25 years , I am in Palliative Care and very much love my job. Mom of 2 and we have just had our first grandchild her name is Rose . My family in my mom’s side is Norwegian and live in Oslo .
Idk if you are Norwegian, but if you are I would love it if you spoke in Norwegian because I'm moving to Oslo in the summer and I'm desperately searching for youtube channels to practise my Norwegian, haha.
That's so exciting! Yes, I am Norwegian, but this channel will mostly be in English. But it could be fun to do a Norwegian vlog some time with subtitles 😁
