It depends but generally I would say yes. Where it seems to make most difference is the interactions with bumps and the speed gain you get from them. I don't think the actual top speed is higher on higher fps, but the speed gains before that over bumps seems to be higher. If you're using a keyboard like me, then it also feels like it's more likely to shift up and not get stuck in gears. If you're using a controller you can 'short shift' which bypasses this getting stuck a lot. There are of course some cars which have completely broken physics at high fps. If you drive the LM87 capped at 60 fps, it feels really slow in a straight line. You drive it at high fps and it is probably the fastest car in a straight line.
This is really quality testing! It's nice to have a contrasting viewpoint from the other testing out there. I'm just wondering if the La Coureuse stacks up with this grouping on more handling dependent circuits.
I think it would require a very specific type of track to be competitive on PC (because no HSW varient), and I imagine on any track the La Coureuse would be competitive, the Issi Sport would still be better.
You might have vsync turned on ingame, or you might have the refresh rate set to 60hz inside of GTA (if you're using exclusive fullscreen mode). What refresh rate is your monitor?
@@tesmanit What I would do is check that your monitor is set to 120hz in your video card drivers, disable vsync ingame and in the video card drivers, make sure you haven't set a frame rate limit in something like msi afterburner, make sure you haven't set a frame rate limit inside your video card drivers (nvidia has an option in each game profile, im sure AMD have something similar). If you're still not seeing more than 60 fps, check another game to verify there is no frame limiter operating on your system. Make sure you're testing this from an invite only session. GTA is a super cpu limited game, and on a full session (especially ones with cheaters running shit everywhere) it will tank your fps. For reference I have a 7800x3d and on an invite only session it will be 160 fps in most places, but a full session will see it dip down to 100 occasionally. My old 5800x would rarely see much more than 100 fps in a full session, and my even older i7 4790k would struggle to go beyond even 70.
I still find it funny that they made a Jeep Avenger, out of all things, the quickest SUV in the game. Then again, depending on the platform, they also made a minivan one of the quickest SUVs in the game, so I probably should not be all that surprised.
At this point i'm just happy if the cars they release don't have the god forsaken advanced handling flags which completely ruin so many cars. I'm also content if each dlc they don't further nerf the tuner cars (though it's been a few dlc's now so maybe I can stop worrying they will ruin them further).
Yep, and what the video doesn't show are all the attempts when you slightly get the angle wrong over a bump, or land slightly off angle and the itali gto flings itself into an accident. Even though my peak times are close, if i had to do a 20 lap race I would be minutes ahead with the niobe or issi sport (on some tracks at least) because my laptime variance is much lower.
@@tesmanit It's extremely bad over bumps. On a perfectly smooth track (like a pure stunt track) it is very stable and tends to understeer far more than oversteer.
Usually when there are small bumps in roads, tires leave the ground and steering control won't work for fraction of second and car crashes. How did you manage to do this is beyond me.
This car is very compliant over bumps so doesn't suffer from this too much. For other cars you have to modulate the throttle and brake, as well as choosing lines such that you hit bumps at the right angle to maintain control.

It's very good. More powerful, handling isn't as good and trickier over bumpy roads. I plan to do a comparison video with omaggio, emerus, krieger and lm87 fairly soon.
