The Daemon and Rhaenyra argument is easily the highlight of the episode for me the acting was so good it really felt like how a domestic married couple would fight and there were things that needed to be said i hope they reunite soon also Team black!!! 🖤🖤🖤
As unrealistic as it can get just to show a point- at one point Alma's friend took advantage of her and almost raped here, soon after the friends of the boyfriend of her close friend were trying to rape her and at the same time came up the story that the teacher in their school was raping one of the students- one could be left with the impression that every other man is a potential rapist and is gonna try to rape the girl next to him at some point, rappresenting most men as some kind of a monster, disgusting af, this will do more harm than good, yet another one femminist propaganda on Netflix, displaying women as innocent victims and men as cruel predators, yet nobody is talking about the psychological violance of beautiful women over man, from the standpoint of power and countless options, how they take advantage of them and the mind games they play...
The letter that Greta wrote to Alma and the effort she put into finding out what happened that night? That's a real friend. Not Nata, who only wants them around when Alberto disappoints her.
I really hate Nata. She's a whiny character who complains about being the third wheel in a friendship trio but would happily blow them both off to spend time with 'Greek God' Alberto and his arrogant friends. Worst of all, she joined in with him and his friends laughing at Alma's video where she was clearly under the influence. I wish her screen time would be replaced with Berta, who actually enjoys Alma's company and has a sympathetic storyline.
Episode 5 has everything from start to finish. Love, intimacy, and the DRAMA 😂 I love how Colin stands up to Lady Featherington, then proves to Penelope that he can take care of her by taking her to their new home. I LOVED the mirror scene. I wasn't sure how it would translate from the book but it was done well. The intimacy scene was very loving. Then the drama starts with everyone 😂 Lady Featherington and Penelope's sisters are extremely funny this season.
The last scene was so painful, I could see it from both sides. The father got violent upon seeing Alma treat her mother badly. He'd been looking for her all night. It was a build-up of stress. And of course Alma is reeling from everything. There's no black and white in this situation - they're all flawed, there's a lack of communication, and it results in outbursts. Great episode.
It's sad the trigger for that night was Alma's heartbreak over Greta's brother. David is a good guy, and didn't understand the repercussions of rejecting her. He did the responsible thing by not hooking up with her on a night where she's clearly under the influence, and he was saying he didn't want to risk hurting her - but all she heard was "I don't want you."
I love how the show sets up these red herring twists of how you think one situation will be bad for her, but then she gets out of it (like with the drug dealers in the car) - then something else happens to make things worse. Feels very realistic and creates intrigue & suspense through these flashback scenarios not giving away too much.
I loved your reaction and i agree the mirror scene was so gentle and loving between them both he wanted her first time to be special.And loved how Colin told his brothers that hes always had feeling for Pen but was a fool for not knowing what he was feeling
I loved the intimate scene. It was so beautifully done. Not gratuitous or exploitative, but respectful and tender and very real. And Colin standing up to her mother is such a great scene. Nicola didn’t actually get a PG version for her family, she was wrong about getting that and in fact her family watched this episode in a cinema! I’ve read the book and the mirror scene doesn’t actually happen. It’s something her says he’d like them to do, but they don’t do it, so the show decided to include it.
Really? I haven’t read the series, but assumed from comments on other reactions that the “mirror scene” was pulled from “Polin’s” book 🧐📖😅 EDIT: Apparently, it’s “Polin,” not “Pollin”
@@cometgirl217in the book when they are first intimate he says to her he’d like to see her in a mirror naked, she’s says now, and he says later, but that’s the extent of the mirror’s involvement. So the show took that reference and incorporated it into the first time scene on screen.
Oh and my favorite scene was when Greta left Alma to flirt with her brother. There's something endearing about Alma that she's not arrogant but she's also not a shy girl; you can feel that he feeds off her nervy yet determined energy.
The English dubbing is really not good. Unfortunately, James is particularly poorly voiced. In German, his voice has a lot of emotion, which is completely lost in the English version. Perhaps the French dubbing is better... But everyone recommends watching it in the original language with subtitles.
I enjoy watching you sisters. I love your calm demeanor while reacting to the Bridgerton episodes. I love the cute comments. That carriage scene was really something! I was fanning myself! One week till the last four! I think the writers will follow the book closely. I read the books, did you? I've enjoyed both the books and the TV series. Will see you soon for E5 reaction.

@TheFrenchieSisters My 2 favorites were Colin's and Hiacinth's with Gregory's coming next. I think Benedict's is next for us to watch. I really like him. He was on "Good Morning America" this week along with the Queen! He didn't say a lot, but Shonda is getting Benedict out as prep for S4. I read they're filming S4 soon. Just my opinion. I live in the US, by the way.
One of my favorite lines from this episode is "perhaps they're enjoying themselves". I'm watching for Polin, but Hyacinth might be the best Bridgerton ❤😂

He literally dances with Penelope in episode 1x1 of Bridgerton. We've seen Penelope dance a lot. But that's the point. She fades into the background as part of her whistle down identity, but also as a wallflower who likes to read, and is shy, not getting much encouragement from her family.
i love your reaction i do understand what ben as been going though but i dont like him how he treaded charlie he has no right to hurt charile like that and i never like him and iam very proud of charile to stand up to ben and tell him what he did to him and i dont blame him not to for give him he has every right and i love how nick stand behind charile and he was ready to step in if anything goes bad and iam very proud of nick to stand up to his dad and his bother that was perfect
It’s not 100% black and white with Ben. Yes, he was horrible to Charlie, and Charlie does not have to accept his apology. But I also can understand what Ben is going through. It’s interesting how Nick and Ben really went through the same process of self discovery, but dealt with it in very different ways. I see Ben as tragic, but not a monster.
I love the symbolism of Ben sitting over Charlie’s right shoulder as he realizes that Nick gave Charlie a hickey. Ben is still the monkey on Charlie’s back, causing him so much anxiety and triggering his OCD and eating disorder.
yay!...i love the way he kneeled for her in that scene...i think that, considering his life and upbringing, she would have been a rock for him and he desperately needed a rock in his life.
