I love how the show sets up these red herring twists of how you think one situation will be bad for her, but then she gets out of it (like with the drug dealers in the car) - then something else happens to make things worse. Feels very realistic and creates intrigue & suspense through these flashback scenarios not giving away too much.
The last scene was so painful, I could see it from both sides. The father got violent upon seeing Alma treat her mother badly. He'd been looking for her all night. It was a build-up of stress. And of course Alma is reeling from everything. There's no black and white in this situation - they're all flawed, there's a lack of communication, and it results in outbursts. Great episode.
It's sad the trigger for that night was Alma's heartbreak over Greta's brother. David is a good guy, and didn't understand the repercussions of rejecting her. He did the responsible thing by not hooking up with her on a night where she's clearly under the influence, and he was saying he didn't want to risk hurting her - but all she heard was "I don't want you."
