Greetings and welcome to my channel! I am a degreed atmospheric scientist/meteorologist, an avid weather photographer & videographer, and native Texan. Most weather events I'll be covering will be in the Central Texas area. I hope you enjoy my content! :) ____________________________________________________
I think one of my favorite things is the sound of a breeze esp blowing thru the trees on a hot late summer night with lightning in the distance. When I was a kid back in the 70's I hadn't yet become reliant on a fan or a/c to help me fall asleep so with my bedroom windows open the sound & feel of a breeze put me right to sleep. Living on the eastern shores of Lake Erie, this goes for any eastern shore areas of the Great Lakes, there is usually a lake breeze during the day which helps keep the temps cooler than those not fortunate enough to be influenced by a lake breeze. However once dusk comes the breezes literally stop, the air becomes completely still, & the humidity becomes unbearable. What's interesting is there is almost never a night time breeze unless there are storms coming. And we used to have more late night thunder storms back then than we've had in years. And they were always the loudest with heavy rain and brief gust winds. I can see my mother coming out of her room in the dark, lightning flashing through the windows as she went from room to room shutting them. And no sooner would she finish so would the rain, and she'd have to re-open them again lol. But laying in bed listening to the breeze outside and the sound of distant thunder are still the .most comforting sounds. Thank God for vids like these otherwise I'd forget what that experience was like!
And thank _you_ for the kind words! Definitely was one heck of a storm and very glad I was able to record most of it; hope it gives you a good night's sleep for years to come! 💤
@@thatstormenthusiast I love these storms, too, because they're often better than some of those 10-hour videos that loop over and over. This is the real thing, and it's the best for sleeping or even just to unravel with after a hard day.
I might as well have been there with you! That's how good the audio quality was. The storm started from the left and ended up on the right side. I wish you had the uncut version, though. It sounded like you may have missed some lightning flashes. Superb video!
I always enjoy what you have to offer! I'm so sorry you have so few subscribers. I liked your video and added it to two of my playlists. Hope this helps.
We've had a number of thunderstorms with frequent lightning this year but this one easily takes the cake as the most intense so far; thanks for stopping by!
