Agreed. My gut tells me that Jill Ellis was acting at the direction of someone on this, whether it was the new ownership coming in, or the new general manager wanted Casey Stoney out of the way before she took over the GM position, or Jill knew something and she and Casey made a decision in the best interest of both team and coach. The other possibility is that pehaps Casey had annoyed them with something else besides the performance of the team.
You literally have Sophia freakin smith, i love morgan and all she has doke for her country, but you can't be gold forever, and the roster is out now and i knew she wasn't going to make it

Jill Ellis is full of crap! Full of crap up to her eyeballs. San Diego Wave has lost the respect of players and fans everywhere, firing their coach who fought the NWSL for player safety and health. San Diego has always been a losers sports town and they fired the one coach who was bringing them success, regardless of this half season.
Ashley Hatch should have Replaced Morgan 2 years ago....Our Current Strikers are fast but to beat the top 8 Teams you need tight Creative passes to feet in the 18......WE are commited to KICK BALL NWSL STyLE...(Japan comes to Mind)..No podium unless Midfiled can carry us past Spain and Austrailia and Germany and England......Rapinoe and Morgan set us back 8 years by hanging on.....Forwards are NOT COMPATIBLE to Europes SUPERIOR Syles......NO Sophistry in the Attacking 3rd for USA....only Speed Kick it Hard and get LUCKY....

I hope it becomes clear some time in the future as to why they let her go. Not saying it wasn't related to team performance, but 8 months ago they won the regular season (the NWSL Shield), and 6 months ago they signed her to a 4-year contract extension. The team was 9th out of 14 teams in the standings, so mid-table, as they say. The coach you wanted for four more years is mid-table and you get rid of that coach in the middle of the season? I doubt that team performance was the only reason.
Shaw, Dunn, Sonnett, Krueger, Cat, all versatile. the Olympics sucks imo, because teams are forced to take players who arent specifically the best at any one position, just to make sure theres enough versatility if injuries occur. is that really taking the best 18?

Eight or #9 alternative are from WC2019 right! She didn’t dump everyone, but she has 5 complete newbies and a few from 2022 WC. It’s a mix of seasoned success, taste of failure, and newbies.
With everyone including those who live alternate lifestyle's trying to show understanding and patience with KA, what if what was being posted and liked was about Blacks, Hispanics, or Asians. have to agree, if she posted racial stuff, she would have been kicked off the team so fast. that being said, im all for 2nd chances. people make mistakes. lets see what the future holds. kill Korbin with kindness, show her what shes ignorant of, see if she grows from this. if not, ditch her. the question is, does Korbin just fake her way through all this to hold onto a spot, or does she actually show growth and change.

Losing Casey Stoney has been absolutely devastating for us Wave FC fans. We LOVE her for all the reasons you guys have said. A HUGE loss for San Diego sports. Our pride game this weekend is going to be very very bittersweet.
I would have bet money that Lily Yohanis was not going to be a part of the USA Olympic squad. Whenever I see her with the USWNT she looks like she feels like an outsider, a player with a big decision to make. And if I'm being honest, I think she will opt for the Netherlands. The Dutch are a top 10 nation and if she chooses the Netherlands she gets to play in the Euros every four years. The fact that the men's Euro 2024 is in full swing and the fanatical Dutch Orange army is in full voice will not have been lost on her. If the truth be told, the USA would jump at the chance to play in the Euros. The Copa America (especially the women's version) doesn't even come close and the Olympics as a multi-sport event does not get anything like the eyeballs/coverage of the Euros and the World Cup. It's a big decision to have to make, but the Euro fact is a big enough factor to weigh her decision in favour of the Netherlands.
@@johnduarte462 besides Lilly moved to the Netherlands when was ten I believe, she great play at SYC in Springfield Va. I like her as a player and was hoping one day she would play for the USA because she is a very good player, but if she chooses to play for the Netherlands 🇳🇱 good for her, I can also tell you there are many players like her in the US, it would be like next woman up and the line is long.
