Drums are usually the easiest - I always do them first. You can separate the percussion tracks from the audio easily and then work out the patterns and such. Also, if there is live video of the performance, you can actually visually see which tom or cymbal she is hitting at a certain note - that really helps.
Mine too! I've only been a fan for a few months, but Spoopy quickly went to the top of my TRiDENT playlist and has stayed there. What a fantastic song.
This is one of my fave Trident songs & if anyone says the synth pattern doesn't follow Saiki's vocal melody in "Dice" then Dean dressed as a pumpkin on Halloween handing out Trident choc-chip cookies wouldn't be Spoopy :)
@@DeanF_MIDI Ohh why didn't you say.😏 The part in your vid 0:37-0:55 sounds like Saiki's vocal melodies of Saiki in Dice to me. Go on Dean shoot me down in flames now.😂
PUNCHY, Dean! CLANG 🔔💥🔨 It's a hit! With songs like Clang, why even MIDI-Maid isn't the favorite band of all hard rockers worldwide is a mystery to me. How 'bout you? 🤔🤘
Awesome job, Dean, & the rhythm does sound like the clickety clack of a train hurtling along. Idk why this song is largely ignored along with Yuragu :(
This is one of those songs that you get in your car, roll down the windows, or put down the roof, crank this puppy up to eleven and go tooling down the highway.
Great MIDI! Really happy to see you showcasing more awesome J-Rock bands lately. Been a big fan of TRiDENT for a few years now, it's rare to find many covers by them, so each one is always welcome ☺Hope to see more in the future!
@@GaryHolloway-810 Nahh they're inexpensive cigar, but it normally takes about 15 minutes to smoke one, unless I'm reading on my phone which I was. Then I have to relight it several times because I get engrossed in the book.
@@GaryHolloway-810 Oi!! I'd be sick as dog trying to smoke a cigar for that long. But I've been rereading the Vorkosigan Sage by Lois McMaster Bujold. I think this is the 9th or 10th time I've read the whole series from start to finish. Just started the final volume of Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen yesterday and I'm about halfway through it. I should finish it tonight before bed.
@@greylocke100 Gosh you're into high fantasy & Sci-fi then. I like the supernatural English myth novels of Robert Holdstock which mixes the present day with folklore :)
Band-Maid's level of accuracy is 100% from okyuji to okyuji. They use backing track live so they have to be 100% accurate, or else they get out of sync with the track. I believe they have practiced a lot with a click track over the years, one tend to be more accurate doing that. A drummer I've played with over the years always run a few seconds of click before he counts in the song, to make sure we play at the correct tempo. The music we have written has to be 100% accurate because of the a few different delays used by the guitar players. I even switched to play my 5-string bass with a pick to be more accurate, and of course because MISA is playing her 5-string basses with a pick :-)
Gosh that was bloody Quick. This sounds great, Dean, the bass comes thru really powerfully. But i agree the vocals were far too prominent in the studio recording :)
Good work Dean! I'm sure BAND-MAID will be ensured even more enthusiasm in Mexico when they surely perform with The Warning! Still waiting for them to venture into the South Pacific where there are less people but of course many are very enthusiastic to experience a live B-M show. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Akane sprinkles that disco beat into a quite a few tracks? Hope that kidney stone disintegrates quickly for you mate and is not too painful when passing it. Cheers!
Good work Dean! I really like this band and will be receiving their CD via CDJapan and DHL this arvo in Australia. Dare I say it that BAND-MAID are sowing the seeds of their genre in new bands like NEK! who of course are taking it on and playing in their own unique way! Cheers mate!
Yes, you can tell that Natsu is an admirer of Kanami. Way back from before she was in NEK!, she was doing RU-vid covers - and among them was some Band-Maid ones.
