Nice. I think due to the DMA capabilities of the VDP used inside the Mega Drive/Genesis, the console has a lot more graphical power than originally thought due to the cartridge size limitations of the day. Give it some NeoGeo cart memory sizes and it will turn into a NeoGeo.
Yuzo's game might be the ONLY new Megadrive game I'm excited about, because it feels 100% like a game from the early 90s, unlike the others. People don't understand that it's not about the pixel art. It's about the FEELING it conveys.

Saturn: Batsugun, Battle Garegga, Cotton 2, Dodonpachi, Gradius, Layer Section, Parodius, Radiant Silvergun, Raystorm, Salamander Deluxe Pack Plus, Thunder Force V, etc.

My Donkey Kong Country 4 would have been a New Orleans /Swamp theme. Swanky and Funky are at a casino when all the other Kongs get captured so you play as them. One level is a Kremling themed Mardi Gras parade and there are casino bonus games. K Rool has a crocodile skull mask and is into voodoo now. He has voodoo dolls of all the Kongs and uses them to his advantage. Instead of rat enemies you would have possums. Also, there are good Kremlings that help you out along the way. That’s just off the top of my head

Bro we need a new shmup console that can be somewhat competitive with Nintendo and Xbox Series S. It would probably be niche more than likely, but in this day and age with the internet it could have a solid support and made a decent profit

If games like this and papprium and demons can make the genesis keep evolving In sound and color then why Even let the genesis die. Sega realize what going on. And reproduce the genesis . With a little tweak hardware . And update the 6 button controller To include Two shoulder buttons, and longer handles
For Sega to bring back the mega drive, and just include the Mega CD hardware inside would make all the sense in the world. If they price it as a niche product to cover the high unit cost I think they would have the dedicated audience. These people making these amazing games deserve to have their games be official.

This hack optimizes Final Fight 3 so that there are fewer slowdowns during the game. Several optimizations have been made, none of which alter the original gameplay or are explicitly notable. Some of the changes made are: The routine that pulls unused sprites off the screen has been completely replaced with a faster one. The game originally and unnecessarily updated all 256 colors every frame, now it has been divided into four steps. If there is excessive CPU load, CGRAM mirror updating is paused to prevent a lag frame. During an interruption routine, the game originally waited until it reached H-Blank. The horizontal starting point of the interrupts has been moved to avoid wait loops. The routine for storing the sequence of inputs has been optimized. Some loops that used RAM as a scratchpad now use DMA registers as a faster RAM alternative. And a few more small things. The top black border is 3 lines smaller now, showing background details that weren’t visible before. Version 1.1 Update: Many more optimizations have been made, including a new lag prevention system. If lag is about to occur, the game will give the CPU a little more time to finish before updating the next frame. Fixed a rare sprite glitch from the previous version.
