I hate that bands over time drop their musicians for the sake of making a bit more money, or easier to tour or whatever. These horn parts could have been dropped for a synth. Thanks for keeping art alive.
i guess cos it was a fun and dextrous way of sequencing music in the live setting that is more visually engaging for an audience. it's more like playing a physical instrument.
In the 00s she was kinda over with instruments. the orchestral arrengement in vespertine (2001) were made in a laptop, medulla (2004) was made entirely with the human voice as the main instrument and when volta (2007) was released she was fascinated with the tenori-on and the reactable (google it its really amazing!) as new democratic tools to create music with no formal knowledge I guess. In Biophilia (2011) she also used apps in a ipad to create beats in her live tours, it was like a natural progression to the tenori-on. Yes, she is a fucking genius.
