I used to work for a company that will remain nameless, but they were international and their main product was paper. They would call a mandatory staff meeting. When it was over and you went back to your cubicle or office, there would be a manager(from another division) waiting for each unlucky person. They'd let you collect your purse, coat, visible personal belongings, then walk you to the door. If you had anything else there, you had to make an appointment to come in for it....security escorted people for this...they also searched your area before you came for the rest of your stuff.
All of these meetings take place in a city. If you live in a city.....LEAVE. Your shoe box apartment is more expensive than a used truck and RV trailer. The air and water are cleaner. Taxes are less. Even a basment is a better option.
1:20. In the previous dialogue she explained it quite well. 0:58. The beauty of it is that if you don't like it, you can choose to join the ranks of the unemployed and expand your horizons to a job that treats you the way you think you deserve.🙌🏻
vice versa is true too the people getting fired are the one who were abusing the these dont have anything show during stand up making it obvious they are ready to fired
The universal excuses of poor leadership are: - “but it’s just part of the job” (most abused of these) - “but you are salaried not hourly and we need someone to stay late” - “contract says duties as assigned” (second most abused of this list) - “I can’t offer overtime or raises in pay due to budget issues.” (Can afford pizza parties and taking elaborate personal time off though) - “Need you to be on call. Job requirement. No extra pay. Just part of the job.” (Working IT, this excuse is highly common)
The kicker is that if you signed your contract with the job description including "Additional responsibilities as needed" or something akin to that, there's nothing you can do. HR does NOT exist to protect the employee. It exists to protect the company.
These companies don't care about the employees from what i've experienced, its all about cutting costs and expecting workers to go above and beyond what they're being paid. Its nonsense. I don't blame people who do only what is required of them, if their pay doesn't increase, neither should their workload.
The new generation understand NOTHING about work 🤦🏻♀️ the manager wasn’t toxic in any way. She explained it clearly and well.. the company is running low on budget, and the remaining employees ARE required to do the job they are assigned to do.. and this gen Z employee is feeling entitled to get a raise when she is simply doing the tasks assigned to her… if she doesn’t like it, she can simply leave.. They hired her to do tasks they assign to her..
The old generation understands nothing about work, fuck that company, they want more work from the people they are keeping they should be paying more. Sorry old timer you think that you should get unlimited work out of somebody.
I’m not gen z. How can you be older and understand less than gen z? These companies cut jobs to boost share price. Tesla laid off 15% of employees but somehow had enough to give musk a $37 Billion bonus. You can pay 10,000 employees $100k / year for 37 years for Musks bonus. But here you are saying the remaining employees need to sacrifice?
But the company IS entitled to being able to just give more work to employees as they wish, with absolutely no cost? Thats what your comment is implying
Yeah, work your ass out working more while actually getting your pay cut. She explained it in corporate language, which is deliberately CONFUSING, unless you know how to decode it. I´d say gen Z employees understand their worth better and are willing to go to greater lengths in order to find an employer, who will understand it too.
I have never seen any company or management discussing anything like this before the layoffs and neither any discussions after that. Its the work just divided among the left over people in the team without any pre information also they never ask teams opinions in the management decisions.
So saying politely to your employees that they are about to do twice work they already have without any compesation it's ok but asking for a compesation is toxic? Keep licking the sole of your boss
@@gulburzz Maybe you need to look up the word "toxic". Based on the fact that you can't speak the native language of the land of your birth, hello liberal.
Every time you make a video you cover a bs situation I encountered with a manager and like 90% were with the same one manager. Worst manager I had ever had yet... Could not stand them
The jobs I have had, the employer drags their heels on hiring a replacement for as long as they can, seeing how long they can make the remaining employees pick up the slack before everything collapses. THEN they start looking for someone. There's no point giving notice.
No. When they pull this crap I slow down so none of the extra duties get done. When they whine I tell them I simply didn't have time to get to it. If they say then I have to stay late I tell them no I won't be doing that because I'd be having to stay late every day because they've literally given me two peoples jobs to do and there simply isn't enough time to finish it all in an eight hour day, and I am not ok with staying late every day so I won't even get that started.
Yup, everything needs to get done! BUT.. The work will still be done at your same pace, and within your normal PAID working hours. Eventually, it will be completed. It may not be exactly when they want it but you're not a Super Human Robot God. What did the expect Also, be careful to not accidentally and unknowingly damage/destroy $50,000-$3,000,000 worth of equipment unsubstantiated.. Lol! Jk! It would be a funny made-up animated skit though.
