It still always amazes me to hear professionals, people who have been playing football for 20+ years, claiming that they still need coached to play a possession based game. Footballs really not a hard game. From day one you’re coached to pass and move.
FOZZY! Good show with John ... wr should NEVER been give The Blues manager job ... JE should have never been let go Period! But I do not own The Blues I've just cheered for them since I was Nine years old! Thanks for winning us the Cup in 11! Up The Blues KRO sotv & wr!
i always wondered whether the best players don't make good managers because they expect players to be able to do the things they could do, and john ruddy's story is kind of evidence of this. in theory messi, how he reads the game and understands what's going on, could be an incredible manager, but what if he expects the majority of players to be able to do what he does lmao
At the time I was so puzzled at how it could possibly be a good thing even for the two managers neither one would have final say in any decision. It's more those in charge didn't have a backbone and decide to fire Roy because even if he was upset he would at least have respected the decision.
Ironically John was probably one of the only players that improved throughout the season. He was doing okay under Eustace (stopped enough just made small mistakes), under Rooney less good but he was hampered by the playstyle. He was excellent though in the second half of the season. Kept us in games far longer than we ought to. Shame how it ended, would like to see him at blues next season. But I'm thinking we go out and get a younger keeper for the future, and in that case if he wants regular games he should go elsewhere. We have no goalies on the books atm though :(
As a Birmingham supporter, I’m aware Rooney inherited a squad of average players with no back bone or fight. I’m not sure he’ll ever make a good manager, but even Pep would struggle with that team of melts. A complete contrast to the team that won the league cup which was full of battlers and leaders.
Bullshit. Eustace, Mowbray and even Rowett to an extent got a recent return out of those players. Top half form to be exact. We went down because of Rooney's 15 games - it was never just the players
I like Ruddy as a keeper but playing out from the back under Rooney he was a rabbit in headlights.Rooney was awful as a manager and constantly blamed the players after every game .
Sorry, but if Rooney is so smart, why do all of his teams he managed tank so fast? And why dies he get fired sooner than later? He obviously isn't really that good
Because his stupid and has no people skills and doesn't want to teach poor players how to play. he thinks his fergie but he will never get the time or power at a club like fergie he did.
Non blues fans would say Rooney wasn’t given enough time yet if you are a blues fan who witnessed his tenure you would have seen a man either standing up or sitting down with his hands in his pockets not looking bothered. Never ever did he look that he wanted to be there and fight for his job. Fifteenth games to many, good luck Plymouth
@@mrbluesky2051 still doesn't mean you have to jump around and stuff. Ancelotti for example stands on the touchline most of the time and he's European champion
Rooney was told he would have time and time means being able to bring the right players in and then he was given none of that, problem was the owners sacked a successful and popular manager to bring in Rooney, which was bloody stupid.
Im so looking forward to seeing what we "Plymouth Argyle" can achieve this season, with a rooney pre-season and a transfer window under his belt. fascinating show cheers fozzy
I don’t think that will be the case at Plymouth. They was the best team to play us at St Andrews and Wayne having a pre season etc will be a different case.
Wayne Rooney was the second best manager from a Villa perspective this season. Let’s hope Blues new boss is just as effective as Rooney and they end up in league 2.
@ECLyrical I wouldn't get your hopes up. I honestly don't think that we can get a worse Manager than Rooney lol, just like how Villa will probably never get worse than Tim Sherwood.
Villa's best two goalkeepers have been gifted by Arsenal. Jimmy Rimmer was the best Villa keeper of my lifetime but Emi is now on another level. Thanks, Arse.
Met Ruddy when he was playing every week in the Prem for Norwich in the lobby of a travelodge. I was wearing a Swansea shirt (a team he never played for) and he actually came upto me, before I had even clocked him.
maybe put the name of the person youre interviewing in the title because i know of John and what hes done but i wouldnt recognise him straight away, me personally i watch all your videos but some people might not if they dont know whos on
I actually don´t know how accurate FM is when it comes to the difference between league one and two. In FM it´s not that big, the huge jump happens from league 1 to the Championship.
Martinez was hilarious, it's the Argentinian fans, that say racist stuff for no reason. France knocked out Argentina in 2018, and I didn't see one comment where someone said how dirty Argentinians are or how their country was poor, etc. But my God, when they won in 2022, the racist comments flood gates flew open haha! I'm German and I don't particularly like the French, but come on, keep the comments to football.
Wow. I'm amazed at the different kinds of goalkeeping that Emi explained. It's my first time to know about the differences on how to save a goal and how to react.
I'm one those fans that watch every single game. You have to be fair. Every time you played for Arsenal you were crap until those last ten games. All those mistakes you made in the league cup over the years. Lets not rewrite history. Give Arsenal some credit for sticking with him. No Arsenal fan thought this guy would come good he was a bad goalkeeper and they kept faith in him. I'm glad he's finally found himself.
