not useless, it's a comparison of opportunity cost with your colonists. prioritize going east imo, but take mexico and peru in your spare time. they do scale well with an additional merchant each
@@QuarbitGamingWell, I don't have any dlcs yet so I guess they're my only option for now lmao. Also, it's crazy how you keep answering people here after 3 years. I'm new to this game and I'm playing Portugal and I am currently colonizing Brazil, but I might start expanding more to the East now. Thanks for the guide, really useful.
Thank you RU-vid for the only good recommendation of this quarter. I shall subscribe. I look forward to getting the next good channel recommendation in a couple months.
About taxes you pay to your Overlord. I tried Korea myself a few days ago before your stream, and I ended up with paying roughly 50-60k in Diplomatic pacts as a Puppet, because I industrialized too heavily. But I swapped the economy slightly more into a more "farm focused economy", and it stabilized to the point I moved back to a Tributary, as I was feeding the market for Qing with food and other necessities. Overall, the Agrarian Economy law is better and helps a lot, so always worth rushing. Lastly, the laws about Local Police. It seems it have also been buffed, so you look at the Turmoil reduction bonus, it is higher than Dedicated Police, so if you care more about Turmoil, Local Police is better, even though you give the Landowners more power, you will ultimately reduce Turmoil by 60% instead of 50% with Dedicated police-force. Additionally, maximum out Dedicated Police-Force requires more bureaucracy than Local Police-Force (level 3 vs level 5). I have been watching your perspective on what you do and learn a few things there. Thank you for the chill stream!
16:00 I think it's coded such that if the HRE emperor has an opinion of you of at least 100 and is friendly, they are not going to demand unlawful territory. Otherwise you have to be allied to them.
Yellow Prussia is back babyyyy. Vicky2 was my first pdx game so I always saw Prussia as yellow and couldn’t understand why people were so annoyed at it lol.
28:04 IIRC, there used to be an exploit way back in vanilla that let Prussia have Prussian Monarchy while remaining Catholic, and the combination was completely busted OP in combination with either one of the Papal Influence buttons or a Golden Bull or something. So yeah, Catholic Prussia not getting Prussian Monarchy is probably very, very intentional.
Pretty sure you can still be a catholic prussia in vanilla if you do it with the Teutons. If I remember correctly there's a path that allows you to do that.
@@QuarbitGaming I understand not noticing it often because it's a really mediocre reform ngl. however, it's been in multiple of your runs, including Hussite Prussia where you call it a new unique reform, and I believe in an Ante Bellum Italy run where you also believe it's a modded reform. You also never pick it in any of those runs because it's pretty bad compared to tax and reduced influence. I'd have to rewatch them to be sure which vids I'm trying to reference here, though.
@@QuarbitGaming i'm pretty sure you've noticed it every time you've played in the hre this update hahaha. just quickly checked your last brandenburg video 3 months ago and you saw it and went for the curtail nobles just like in this video
Something interesting to think about. The ikko ikki theocracy is one of the best options for a Shinto one Faith as Japan (for some reason you can still keep the government reform even if you change religion. It comes with missionary strength and morale (enough to double the morale from being Shinto and enough missionary strength to make a one Faith possible), and it allows you to see the stats of the candidates for ruling the nation (which means you can get a better reform instead of the one that allows you to see the stats before you choose) which makes it arguably one of the better theocracy's (in terms of what Japan has) considering it's exclusively for Japan), though it's worse as a republic (as a republic you already see the stats of the next rulers, it will also remove the nobility estate because it counts as a peasants republic)
I did a game with Austria, and I managed to get Russia, Spain, Great-Britain, Poland-Lithuania and Denmark to be my dynasty... The top 5 were all hasburg, I PU'ed them. The few war I did in this game were reconquest war, religious war and defense war, primarly with the Ottoman and France. Really satisfyed of what i did even though I'm not as crazy as you are, and took vassals. Fun fact 1, Denmark hated me. The reason he was from my dynasty was because he was allied to Russia somehow. Same for England. Don't even need to royal mariage, the game do it for me. Fun fact 2, England declared war on me, Just after I PU'ed Spain. He was alone with 250k in total, we were 500K ... Only in infantry (900k total) ... The IA is broken. Fun fact 3, It wasn't even a challange, I'm just a master in diplomacy in this game. Each game I get at least 2 PU's, often with Russia because I don't want to fight it over and over.
Couldn't you release a different subject, feed them the Ottoman cores, then once you can vassalize the Ottomans in a single war, break the subject status with the patsy and reconquest the Ottoman cores once the truce is up? I mean, why would you, but that sounds easier than eating millions of overextension, heh heh
10:33 wait what. Playing as the aztecs i had a normandy as a "sunset colony" and i could core thorugh them paris and a province next to them. They werent costal either. My capital was in the new world so idk how that happend.
I tried to block them from colonizing the ameicas by colonizeing thr cost first....BIG mistake. Ended up wasting my time, and now europe is to strong even without the new world. 😢 Wasted 10hrs gameplay
