Hello and welcome to my channel! I am a self taught watercolorist who wants to make you fall in love with watercolor painting, just as I have. It is the perfect way to relax, so come join me!
Hi , i was watching the video that you were telling us about the App called Fino. So I went in to find it to download load it , and wasn’t able to find it like it doesn’t exist. 😢
@@catscreations66 I've been looking for a tutorial to help me get started on my Christmas cards. Think I just found it! If it works I'm thinking I can 'mass produce' them - painting 3 at a time. Do you have any tips?
@@janefoust2785 Great idea! Only that I would do each step at the same time. For example I would paint all the skies, then all of the greens, etc... I hope you have fun!
Hi Cat! I love this sketch book. What is the weight of the w/c paper? And what is the measurement of where you place the glue to paste the pages together? Looks like maybe a half inch or inch? Thanks Tamara
@@tamaracharland1036 Hi and Thank you! I used 140lb w.c. paper and yes i glued about a half an inch along the edge. I really love mine and I've made 2 more in different sizes. I hope you enjoy using yours too! 😊
What a great lesson! You really showed the kind of things zi;d expect to see and that I would ot know how to correct, I’m so excited to try! Thank you.
Nice job Cat! That tool you got is a Ukrainian Kitska. I have many of them for melting wax on eggs of all kind to make Ukrainian Easter eggs. I have been trying to use them on Watercolor batik but they clog. I love cats and would like to become proficient at painting them but I find them harder than other animals to paint. I like your cat painting very much. You are an excellent teacher.
@@Kandicookheller OH thank you so much! You have made my day! 🥰 And thank you for telling me the name of that little gadget I used! Your eggs must be beautiful and I would love to see pictures of them. 😊
Absolutely beautiful work. I usually try and watch videos every morning and every evening when I paint every day, in between housework and gardening. I will definitely watch for you videos. Thank you so much. I love botanicals and detail work.
Thanks so much for a very well done video. I am trying it and I'm not quite done yet and the jury is still out on my piece. I did my oranges on a large rectangle because it was easier for me but I don't think I got enough texture on my oranges; we will see. I subscribed and am happy I found you! I found art very late in life and started playing with watercolors in my 60's. I would do it all day if I could.
I’ve only been doing water color for 6 months now. I’ve had several times I wanted to quit because I thought I wasn’t talented enough. I kept going even though I felt this way because I love painting. Thank you for letting me and everyone watching this video we all have these moments. Love your work 😊
Thank you for sharing your struggles and ideas to combat them. I understand how frustrating and also depressing it can be to feel blocked and the whole cycle you described. Hearing I'm not alone in the boat helps more than you can imagine.
OMG this was so helpful! Just what I have been looking for. So appreciate your patience and your teaching. Many Blessings to you! 🤗 Thank you so very much.
I really enjoyed this video! I have a couple of supply questions; what is 'mack tack' and what is the detail brush you used for the trees called? Thanks for your time!!
Hi! Mack tack is sticky shelf liner and you can buy it clear as well. Most bargain stores (DOLLARtrees or Dollarama) have it. I know Walmart does too. The detail brush is one of a set of three that I purchased on Temu. VERY inexpensive! Thanks for watching! 😊
I rewatched the video and I am using....QOR Quin Magenta, Alizarin Crimson, Pyrrol Red DANIEL SMITH Sap Green, SHINHAN Cobalt Blue Hue, PAUL RUBENS Indian Yellow and Hooker's Green and WINSOR & NEWTON Neutral Tint. I hope this helps! 😊
Thank you 🙏🏻 I am very new to watercolor and would like to match your colors. What colors did you choose for this project? I have trouble mixing up enough and then going back and making more and then not having the match so I like what you said about if you’re only using, a limited number of colors they’ll always be harmonious… You said something similar. I did just join your Facebook group.
Hi! Thanks for joining the facebook group. It's still small but we have to start somewhere. I am going to include the pigment numbers just incase your paints have different names. I used Winsor Red (PR254), Winsor Yellow (PY154) and Quinacridone Magenta (PR122). For the stems and leaves I used Hooker's Green (with yellow mixed in) and straight Hookers Green which is more blue-green. Have fun painting!
This painting is so lovely. Thank you for teaching me how to better use my brushes . I’m excited to practice that stroke. Also I feel like I could do a similar painting, even as a new watercolor artist. Much appreciated!
Thanks for the lovely painting, yes i would like to see your portrait painting & a video tutorial, i'm eager to try a portrait, i have photos i would like to use as guides of my own.❤❤❤❤❤
Your negative painting technique is so cool! I love how you did the shadows for the different layers, it really makes the individual layers pop. I also love the way you used a stencil on the dark background, that makes it so much more interesting. Thank you for a great tutorial.
