If you are anything like me, you own more paints than anyone needs and you discover that it's hard to decide which ones to use in your artwork. In this video, I make my own Accordion Swatch Book and swatch all of the blue paints I own, recording individual characteristics of each paint brand. I'll show you my method and why I think paint swatching is a good idea for planning your future masterpieces! I hope you find it helpful. Enjoy!

Great tutorial. I love this swatch exercise. I don’t have many paints to swatch, will give it a try. BTW-Origami books (like what you made) are so much fun to make and are also great for mini paintings. 😊

Hey that's a great idea - Mini paintings! If you don't have many paints, just group together similar colors or even mixes you've discovered you like using. 😊

@@catscreations66 Oh for sure I will. - I’ve seen them made by other people, but yours is much easier. And it looks better. (not flimsy) - The DOUBLED/or heavy CARDBOARD makes all the difference. AND No glue gun❗️(YES!👍🏼) Sticky-back paper is a good idea… (from the $ store. 🙂) And I’ll use cotton paper. - I like creating, and this is something that’s really useful. Plus, I can make it any size. ▫️ Sorry for the “novel” ;)) ▫️ Thanks again. Hope ur day’s great.

❤ LOVE your handmade swatch card‼️ Why do you flatten out your brush when your painting out your colours? I tried it but it made so many lines across the swatches. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thank you!! I push on the belly of the brush to squeeze out more water and paint. The results always differ with different brushes. But it normally softens things up.
