Man both mics sound too similar to each other and I'm wondering if something is bottlenecking the sound in this particular clip. There are differences form time to time sure, but its so subtle I'm unsure if its just the change in the vo performance over time itself and not the mics doing. Sounds very homogenized.

What would be an interesting experiment (and great for engagement) would be to A/B them, have people comment which they liked best, then release in a followup which was what. That way there's absolutely no bias about it (especially since A/B tests like that have been done with cables before and the people couldn't tell the difference between a cable and a coat hanger). Can I tell a difference in the microphones? Yes. Is that difference worth $2,700? No, absolutely not.

For half the cost and no noticeable difference between the 2. I listened to it with my studio monitor headsets with the volume turned way up. I can say the AKG P220 is the winner in my book.

This looks like what I need. I am trying to record audio from my Yamaha Reface CP to an audio track in Cubasis 3 for iPad. I already have a Volt 1 audio interface, but there is no way to record audio through to Cubasis. What I need is a recorder that can record audio from the Reface CP to .WAV format so I can import the .WAV file to Cubasis and then add MIDI tracks to go with it. All I'm getting from the Volt 1 is the mechanical sounds of the Reface CP's keys as I press them. There is no audio being recorded. If I understand the Zoom H6, as you've presented it, I should be able to record the audio backing tracks I want direct from the Reface CP and export the .WAV file to my iPad. Right?

I just purchased one from a pawn shop for $190.00. While the salesperson stepped away, I googled the price 😮 She even had the cord, I swipped my card so fast that the store alarm and fire detector went off!!! I couldn't get home fast enough to try it out. Its nice, all of my other mics are in jeopardy!

_// Thanks for sharing the video! Let me tell you something important: God loves you! God loves us ! He is no respecter of persons! because God wants us all to be saved! and let's go to the knowledge of the “Truth” God wants to save us from eternal damnation, which we all deserve because of sin, who entered the world through Adam, and death entered through sin, and thus death passed to all human beings, Therefore, we are all “Sinners” But God's Love was so great for us, that he sent his only Son (Jesus Christ), gave him to this world, to die and rise for all of us! No Respect of Persons! so that everyone who believes in Jesus Christ does not go to eternal punishment, but rather has “Eternal Life!” “ Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures; and he was buried, and rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures Jesus Christ came to call sinners to “Repentance! “ and, he who believes in Him, has “Eternal Life! “But whoever refuses to believe in Jesus Christ, the wrath of God remains on him. Then, as through Adam's transgression, condemnation came to all human beings, in the same way, through the justice of Jesus Christ, justification of life came to all human beings! All of us who believe in The Only Savior of the world! The Only Mediator between God and us! The Lord Jesus Christ! The son of God! All of us who trust in Him; we have “Eternal Life! “ And we must know that there is salvation in no one else; because there is no other name under heaven, given to human beings, in which we can be saved. Only by Believing/Trusting in “Jesus Christ” can we be Saved! But Jesus Christ also said: Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Therefore, we must be doers of the Word of God! and not only listeners and/or readers, deceiving ourselves. So let's read the Word of God! There is His Will! what God wants us to do! Let us read mainly the Gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and let us pray to God, our Heavenly Father, all the days of the life that He gave us! God loves you! God loves us! To Him alone be the Glory Forever! Amen! Bible Source: Acts 10:34-35 / 1 Timothy 2:3-6 / Romans 5:12 / John 3:16 / 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 / Luke 5:32 / John 3:36 / Romans 5:18 / John 6:47 / Acts 4:12 / Matthew 7:21 / James 1:22 /,

Thanks for this. I have an AT4060 and there's a certain reedy-ness in the high mids, and as someone else noted, it is possible for it to sound harsh in certain types of singing/singers. I dont think these mics sound similar at all.

I bought a 151 specifically for it's price point and because the 2020 is flat. More lows and articulation on the 151, but do yourself a favor....don't buy either one. Get an AKG p120 instead.

Compared to CU29 the Neumann U87 is less aggressive being smoother for to my ears. CU29 sounds slightly sharp on some frequencies. Honestly I was expecting to hear some more warmth and mellow sound from it being tube based. A Gefell M930 would be perfect for this type of VO perhaps better than U87.

There's no comparison to the vintage sound.. I've watched SEVERAL videos and some come close, but I'd much rather have the Neumann over the modeling mic, but that's not saying I wouldn't buy one. Lol Out of all the modeling sounds, I think the Sphere 47, Sphere 49 & the Sphere 800 were the best sounds in the mic..

This is a great video, and features two gifted artists. Comparison videos like this get taken way too seriously. They’re entertainment, ear candy. Until you get a mic in your own space and on your own voice, even if the person in the video might have a similar voice as yours, you’ll never fully know if any microphone is right for you. I own both of these mics, and I have to lean toward the U87 Ai, but the 416 has its own kind of magic. If you absolutely HAD to pick between either of these, they’re both fantastic. Much respect to the man running the studio here, and coaching these talents. RU-vid needs more videos like this for us VO nerds. Thank you for making this.

For these two people, there wasn't a single example in which I preferred the WA251. The AT4060 was simply better for everything. In fact, the WA251 made the guy sound like he has a speech impediment, or something (like too much 'de-essing' was applied).
