i didn't realize there was a whole group of ppl fighting for the idea of "you need dysphoria to be trans". i think i would say i was a transmedicalist if not for the fact that championing for the idea itself is dumb. like, do i personally think you need dysphoria to be trans? sure, because thats my definition/experience. but am i gonna hound and argue with ppl about their trans experience if they say they dont experience dysphoria? no! i'll be confused, but i'm not going to deny their identity just because it doesn't fit my own perceptions. its upsetting that instead of these conversations being interesting talks or debates into personal philosophies and feelings, they feel like life or death battle matches as we all struggle to even get basic rights and acceptance from loved ones. anyways, very interesting and well-put together video thank you for making it!

Even if they don’t see it though, just because they don’t understand it, doesn’t mean your experience is not valid. I had to learn that growing up. (I was possibly 15/16 supporting Kalvin. i remember seeing this video sometime in high school. it made me realise how. badly. his videos hurt me, without me even realising it his videos MADE ME develop dysphoria, because of his insistence that you cant be trans if you dont. i developed anxiety about the fact that my dysphoria didnt make me want to kill myself. as soon as i let go of his rhetoric i felt better about myself. he was the first trans youtuber i came across. i was in middle school. your videos helped me pull away from the things he taught me.
I've known about kelvin by watching contrapoints' video where he featured, from that I could perfectly tell he was someone insecure of himself and wanted to conform by being trying to act like "one of the good ones" but after watching this video the little empathy I had for him is gone and I feel nothing but comptent, his legacy of RU-vid will be one of harassment and pain that he spent years inflicting on people who are just like him for the sake of half-ass acceptance from conservatives, but even outside of that, he's just plain evil, even if he wasn't trans, even if he didn't choose trans people to be the target, he is evil, there is malice in his actions, regardless of whether they're fuelled by his insecurities, shame on him.
Honestly there is often a way greater overlap in the bimodal distribution of secondary sex characteristics irl than that graphic. Even things that are seemingly extremely associated with sex like height.

Kalvin is a classic example of a human being who is a ball of unchecked insecurity and literally nothing else. There is not a thought in his pea-sized brain that isn’t to do with how he’s perceived, but instead of working on himself, he’s shamelessly decided to become a trans LeafyIsHere. We all know how Leafy’s career ended. I hope Kalvin goes down the same way.

I consider myself transmed in that the only thing I'm against is pure self-ID. Self-ID requires no Gender Dysphoria, no presentation, no HRT or affirming surgeries. Basically any form of evidence to affirm your claim. This is what's being pushed nowadays & it's completely irrational.. It's delegitimizing what I would call "genuine" trans people.

Would that be how I found out what a penis was?? I still don't think I'd give a fart because I wouldn't know what a human penis looked like and why on Earth would I want something I don't properly know??? It's such a strange thing when you overthink it.
I feel like it's actually fairly common with my generation or close to for non-binary folks to go through a phase of transmedicalism. I'm a non-binary demiboy and during 2012-2014 (when I was 13-15), I followed Kalvin and Blaire White HEAVILY and fell into the rabbit hole of "you're either one or the other and that you're not really trans if you don't experience gender dysphoria or have plans to transition anytime soon". My only sources at the time was them and Tumblr. It wasn't until I turned 17 that I got out of this phase and come to terms with my identity and it took some time to deconstruct my thoughts about the complexities of gender identity and sexual identity. I was already out as pansexual prior to watching Kalvin and Blaire but my gender identity was what took me the longest to really dive into with little resources I was able to find on my own. For a while there were times I second guess myself because of these harmful beliefs and I found myself lost and alone. I felt that I fit no where and at the time I was the only non-binary person I knew. I'm 25 now and I still get those moments of wondering if I actually am even though I'm on testosterone and I've lived my life as a non-binary person since 15 when I did start experimenting with my gender. I didn't even start testosterone until almost a year ago because I wasn't sure if going on HRT would be validating or not. Of course, it ended up being an amazing decision and my doctor is doing her best to find me a LGBTQ friendly surgeon nearby (which is difficult due to living on the country side) to perform a partial hysterectomy for me and potential top surgery but I'm unsure about it. All in all, Kalvin and those like him (Blaire White), don't seem to have any intentions to change even if what they are doing is hurting their own community. I don't believe that Kalvin is outright racist but he does follow a similar rhetoric when he dismisses Non-binary POC folks and how their culture/ethnicity plays a part in their gender identity. It's food for thought.

His sought to justify and gratify the lust of the flesh. God made us more than flesh, for we also have a soul and a spirit. Satan can lead us down the path of darkness in the name of justice…It happened to the first humans, as Satan, (Lucifer) deceived them away from God’s word(s) as well…. All of this falls under the category of the fallen nature because of Sin. I know many don’t want to believe that God is able to deliver humans from Sin, which emphasizes the lies and snares of Satan and his cohorts. Yet My prayers go out to all. For I once was lost in sin to; God is the only one who can fill the empty void of humanity. Jesus Christ paid the price for Sin, that we now have access to be reunited to a Holy God. If it were ever found why people are lgbt I fear you may be right that it would be used to try to stamp us out. I have always been curious what makes people queer, but since some people unfortunately can't handle differences even when it's natural and good, I'd rather the knowledge be buried forever if it exists.
Running into this video now after a few years. I'm so happy that era of who's real and who's fake is dead. I was in my mid-20s watching it unfold online and it was scary and unpleasant to watch. Nothing positive to say about it other than I'm glad the trend of bullying other trans people is over. The irony of it being a trend does not fly over anyone's head there, right? I think that it was driven by people who are insecure around others validating themselves, because they feel deeply insecure in themselves and so they build an artificial structure with rules, ie Kalvin's claim that he has a man brain, which has been debunked by actual science. There are very negligible differences between male and female brains, but digressing from that. Anything outside of their rule book no matter how made up makes them very uncomfortable. I think there's a sort of choice paralysis with these people, that they then chose to project onto others in order to handle themselves. It's no different from cisgender transphobes who do the exact same thing. They hold a lot of fear around people doing with their lives what suits them because they feel that one size must fit all, or they're somehow ill-fitted by others simply living their lives. People like Kalvin made a lot of people insecure and spread that fear and insecurity around and I'm glad we have mostly put it to bed. Being a man in your 20s bullying children online is so fucking pathetic. Making money off it is sick. Imagine that your brand is bullying children. If this guy didn't grow up.
