An accident would be something like the white guy not seeing the garbage truck and stepping out in front of it and the driver not being able to stop in time. This dude put his truck in reverse and backed up into a man who he clearly knew was standing there. Maybe he had no intention to hit him or do him any physical harm but he WAS reacting to the older man flagging him down in an angry manner. He knew he was there.
