I'm an architect working on a project in this area from out of state. Amazing to find your video. Incredible way to get a sense of the place, buildings, atmosphere of the Granary District remotely.
It's pretty rare to see the sky that clear around SLC. Usually it's pretty smoggy and often it's so bad you can't even see the mountains. With the lake drying up the air gets filled with particulate matter containing arsenic. I fear property values are going to drop once cancer and respiratory illness rates start skyrocketing. I've already had 3 close family members die early to respiratory illness. I believe it was the constant exposure to pollution that killed them.
I grew up in ogden ut. Went to ogden high school. My memories of 25th street are not good. I remember 25th being the place that drunks, prostitutes and a lot of homeless hung out. I never go there. I still avoid 25th street like the plague.
My neighborhood all my life except my 5+ years in the ARMY. Love how you pan away from the actual normal residents. Or should I say homeless. You might have spotted my poor dad.
This station in my opinion is nothing more than a concrete slab and a trailor for Amtrak passengers. Residents and transit users of Salt Lake deserve better. We need the Rio Grande Plan to be brough to fruition. Lets make things better ofr all residents!!

I spend my formative years in SLC and moved away right before starting junior high. Seeing these beautiful images just makes me want to retire there SO BAD! I hope everyone there realizes what a great city they live in and enjoys it all.
This station is has been good for SLC as it has grown to love trainsit. Now we need a real station and luckily we have one that looks down at Salt Lake Central. The Rio Grande Plan aims to reestablish the 113-year-old station as the new central station building better walkability and passenger centric construction.
This is a great video, but I hope that this station goes away with the Rio Grande Plan and SLC gets a more beautifully centralized station at the Rio Grande Depot.
@@WalkSLC yes that is the goal but if they move the greenline to the new Rio Grande station why would you need another station not even a half mile from the other? Just seems interesting and might make North Temple redundant. Hence why I said I hope it goes away because it might just not be as efficient to have.
