I'm curious of the Devnet certs across the spectrum (Assoc, Pro, Expert) being relevant. The skills needed to pass the exam are in-line with my career goals. However, the demand for this cert seems very lacking. I did a countrywide (US) search on Linkedin Jobs and nothing showed up!
Currently working on this set up too but I am facing the issue of “403 Foribidden: incorrect proxy service was requested The web server reported that an error occured while trying to access the website. Please return to the previous page. URL ….”Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue?
I bought NetSim and ExSimMax for the CCNA. Has Boson switched to a browser only model? I can't find a download from their website anywhere. Google just takes me to to their downloads pages, but no download exists.
Great Video Chad!! straight to the point. one question, did you have any agent software, like Forticlient, installed on your workstation? so it can report the workstation status to the EMS server
First off, congrats on passing the exam and appreciate the information provided regarding your experience. New to the channel and getting ready to go down the DevNet path myself (aspiring to obtain the CCIE). Looking forward to checking out your other content and keep reaching for the stars!
I appreciate your kind words. The devnet path is very beneficial for aspiring CCIE candidates and I am sure will play a crucial role in my journey. Best of wishes to you on yours and feel free to reach out anytime.
Our Network manager had us on a teams call today to confirm some system performace metrics while a tech was upgrading equipment. The ION install and network improvements were done remotely with a granite tech in house wiring in a new palo alto . Amazing to see it all come together and has me interested in learning about what you guys/gals/they do.
I’m going through nick russos excel sheet right now too.. that first pluralsight playlist of python fundamentals seems way more complex than I imagine for someone without programming experience. How much python experience/skill do you think I really need for devnet?
Great question. I did not watch that portion. Made it through roughly 5 videos and realized that portion was not for me. I substituted that with the devnet site which has a few beginner python things on there as well as various RU-vid videos. I do also have a background writing Python so I probably over did this portion. As far as the exam is concerned you should be comfortable with the basics. Import modules, venv, pip, functions, loops, vars of all types, etc.. If you understand all of that you will likely be fine to skip that entirely as I did. Once you got that down focus on the nuances of the cisco specific products and interacting with them using python. Hopefully this was helpful.
Yes I have. GNS3 with the right device images would give you more freedom to build you’re own topologies. I’d highly recommend it or Eve-ng if you’re looking to advance studies past boson’s limitations.
Came across this video today. I'm currently working on the Encor. Love INE, but can't afford the $800 lump sum they want. Doing Pluralsight, Orhan Ergun videos. Of course Boson simulator, etc.
I can’t speak for the exacts but I would suggest studying up on the areas you found the most difficult and lab certain scenarios around those same areas.
Instead of print screen and paste into paint, just use the msft snipping tool and pin it to your task bar. When you make a snip, it automatically loads that into the snipping tool window. You can either leave it there, or another useful feature is copying and pasting the “snip” you captured into an email or onenote or somewhere else if you don’t have any other need for actually saving the image
Hey chad, good to see you making videos again. I went to Cisco live in Europe in February, it was simply awesome. Be interested in your thoughts on the devnet associate exam once you’ve sat it. I’m just starting to study for this.
That’s awesome! I’m super excited to go especially since I’ve never been to Vegas. I will definitely update everyone on how the exam went and my thoughts on it.
Congrats! Thanks for sharing your experience. I passed the ENCOR a couple of weeks ago and want to keep going up in the Cisco cert path - not 100% sure if I want to go with ENARSI, yet. I was wondering if you could share what your thoughts are about ENCOR vs ENARSI. Which one did you find more difficult?
Hard to measure the difficulty between the two because they both are focused on different areas. I’d say the Encor is slightly more difficult based on the amount of topics being so spread out where was ENARSI dives into more detail with certain things. ENARSI was by far more fun to tackle. Hopefully this is helpful to your question. If I could reverse time I likely would have done encore, ensld, then ENARSI.
Question; did you print that certificate or is it ordered and delivered to you after you pass? I have many certificates but don’t know about this point 😂
