I always keep all my figures in a case.I don't understand collectors that don't. And the stickiness you're talking about is because over time as plastic ages it secrets oils ,I call it the sticky disease. But like you said, usually a good wipe down is all they need.
Holy moley, I must've thrown them out! I'm not WILD about blast effects, but that's really a bummer. I see Night Stalker is still available at the Mattel Creations website...I wouldn't buy another JUST for those effects, but if he's ever discounted, I'd consider and resell the one without. Thanks for the heads up!
I would say cooler than Faker. Reason being it has the potential of being the upside down for ETERNIA. Could make for some epic adventures in a new universe. BTW love the channel.
Love love love Bookman’s! I shopped at the Mesa store all the time when I was living in the east valley! I hope to move back to AZ sooner rather than later! There’s a small local toy shop here that has a bunch of those TNG figures on card for sale cheap. I might have to give them a second look as I’m a big Trekker myself. 🖖🏻
I like that they're relatively affordable, and it's a finite amount of figures, so you can literally "collect them all!" I don't think I've ever seen Picard or the Ferengi in the wild, YET...
This is really cool. I'm hoping McFarlane is going to bring play sets out like a Hall of Justice, Darkseid's Tower of Darkness, and the Hall of Doom. As far as the vehicles go, McFarlane is knocking it out of he park with Blue Beetle's ship.
This yellow is #33, I found his other one, #24, the blue and black. Card art is better than the yellow version. I just found him at Walmart two days ago.
Well said! I saw it, too, and felt inspired to pursue my own solo efforts with greater confidence and enthusiasm. I did notice that Lynn Varley was only mentioned in passing if at all, and should be considered as influential to the visual style of TDK (and 300, etc) as the inking of Klaus Janson. Perhaps she requested to be left out due to their marriage/divorce, but as you said, it seemed to be a blind spot. Thanks for this review! I also enjoy your toy reviews btw, so double thanks!
I totally agree: I understand that McFalrane needs to put out some product that can appeal even to those who don't have the original Kenner toyline, so i can accept ti have a Batman, a Superman, maybe a variant every once in a while, not one or more of each in each wave, specially when some of the original Kenner figures are still affordable, for 40€ I can find a perfect loose Kenner Flash or a Lex Luthor. New characters, like Sinestro, Kilowig or even a Reverse Flash are very welcome. By the way, I absolutely love the Super Powers version of Deathstroke. Ciao!
Basically came to type this - had the original line not been so true to the characters and vision and released some more Batman and Superman figures for everyone to buy em masse - it probably would have last more than three waves. That being said - the OG line was perfect. :)
I hate replaceable hands and heads on my figures, I hate those tiny squeaky and weak joints, the hard brittle plastic... these figures are hefty, but not sturdy
Considering how the market for toys works these days, it's already pretty rare to get vehicles for bad guys and minor characters at all, McFarlane really nailed it with these two!
It wasn't too easy to get these vehicles here in Italy, sadly, but they're totally worth it, amazing vehicles, I adore how they complete my original Super Powers collection
Hi, I like these reviews and I agree with your comments on the direction that McFarlane toys has taken with the line, but to be fair, there was absolutely no reuse of parts in the original Super Powers Collection by Kenner, some of the sculpts looked similar, but every single figure was in fact a completely new set of molds. We had an Invisible Jet in the Pocket Superheroes toys from Mego, but like most of the vehicles in that line, it was very cheaply produced. Interestingly enough, a concept for the Invisible Jet from Kenner can be found online: Kenner planned to make one for the Super Powers Collection with a painted glow-in-the-dark outline, and some sort of a capture hanging from the front.
I loved it as well...just wish it was more focused on the comics and the people he worked with....Like how is Jessica Alba featured more in it than Jim Lee? Why was the Daredevil book with JRJR delayed? ...and no studio tour!
Brainiac, I was happy I was disappointed with the skull 💀 ship that the ship could have been Bigger. Blue beetle 🪲 bug ship is ship Brainiac ship is hovercraft
Man I like obscure figures like this. Final Faction isnt bad quality. Chico is my favorite figure in that line. Literally a tiny dog in a big dog mech.
I'm growing to like them, too. I wish this one was a little sturdier, and it would definitely look good on a shelf with the other two. Good army building figures at this scale.
You remember the snake guys from heman?there was three in the set one had removable skin and another had a long tongue that came out with a lever in the back and i cant remember the third one
I've never broken a hand peg. Like you I am not a fan of the removable hand. I'm also not a fan of the beast man armor added to this version. I liked Moss man the way he was but bought this figure anyway.
This is a fun figure. The sculpt is really good quality along with a cloth goods cape. Fun accessories make for classic sci-fi goodness. Neca uses a brittle plastic so unfortunately they break easy.
If they actually had the action feature , the figures would probably be ten dollars more and the action feature probably would break and not work properly. We're better off without it. I subscribed btw.
This line is one of the only modern toy lines that I’m particularly excited for at the moment. There is a charm to them with the scale, articulation and simplistic design. The price point isn’t bad either! I agree that the ship could’ve easily been something crazy but I appreciate how they executed it. Enjoyed your review!
Love this line, although I do cherry pick it. Not really interested in all the variants. I never did find the Walmart exclusive (🤬) Black Manta or Reverse Flash.
I wasnt sure about this figure at first. But once I opened him up.....I think Mattel did a fabulous job. Total typical He-Man vibes on this figure . He's perfect. Good review.
