Just Open It! #71: Turtles of Grayskull He-Man 

I can understand why a minicomic included with a toy might seem like a throwaway item, but the minicomics that came with vintage MOTU and Super Powers figures gave me my love for comics, at all, and unwittingly introduced me to the likes of Alfredo Alcala, Bruce Timm, and Larry Houston, all master storytellers today. Now that I make comics myself, I know a page for a minicomic requires the exact same amount of work and talent as one for a standard sized comic. My primary criticism involves lettering placement. It's just clear the artist and letterer aren't collaborating at the thumbnail stage, or if the artist is lettering his own work, he isn't considering lettering in his layouts until it's too late. Stan Sakai, creator of Usagi Yojimbo, lettered many of those vintage MOTU minicomics, so he had that understanding, as an auteur cartoonist. Fortunately, with Turtles of Grayskull, Freddie Williams is handling the art chores -- he's drawn MOTU AND the Turtles in various capacities for DC and IDW already, so this minicomic is the best one yet!

Oh, man...I KNEW they'd be hot. When they arrive, I'd love to know what you think of them!

@@KaraokeFanboyPress I've been looking at alot of video of reviews of them like yours. I think they look amazing. I grew up on tmnt and motu so I really like the mash up. I've been collecting motu orgind for the last couple years. Definitely want to add these to the collection but kinda bummed that the walmart abd target exclusives are so hard to get. I really want that krang and mossman. They look amazing
