Good stuff. I love how Eddie wrote Spanish Fly to go along with Eruption. I find that tune crazier than Eruption just because the stretches at the end are killer.
Great playing. Ratt rhythms are fairly simple and sound great, but those solos are tough to play. Warren just thinks differently than other players. It is like this rolling hammering that his fingers naturally do that is unique to himself. I think he and Randy R. were probably my favorite guitarists from the eighties. I liked EVH, and remember learning most of Unchained, but wasn't liking it nearly as much as I liked the Ratt stuff that followed. Sometimes Ratt would behgin with a fantastic riff like Back for More that shows promise until the vocals come in and I'm thinking.... they could gone a very different direction with that if they had worked a little more on it. I'd love to hear Sammy Hagar and Warren playing and writing together. That would have been awesome.... and maybe it will be someday. Great video, great playing...
Nice Kramers! I just got a 84 Kramer. I want to Eddie-ize it as much as possible without striping it up. I already have a Wolfgang that’s all striped up. I thought about getting one of those MusicYo Kramers. There’s a red one on Reverb right now listed as a USA Kramer. It’s got a nice price tag on it, too. Nice and BIG. 💰 If someone else has been looking for one, go right ahead. I won’t be mad at ya! Get your Kramer on! 🤙🏼
Not sure if you’re into more heavier metal but Stijl has great guitar solos and catchy riffs if you can get passed the growling/screaming style of vocals you should check out some of the band Death’s work. I.m.o. They don’t have one bad album in their discography. But their earlier stuff is more straight up death metal but their latter albums were more jazz influenced time signatures and technical guitar parts compared to their earlier stuff! Thanks for the info in the video I was always curious about Mike Varney and the whole Shrapnel records roster from back then. When I first heard Cacophany album I was totally blown away by Marty & Jason Becker guitar playing…, also it’s Jason’s Birthday today so Happy Birthday Jason!
Im from Bulgaria and my dad raised me on good music. Underrated guitarist, maybe even forgotten ;( It's crazy his music reached us in the 80s, where dad had to hide and listen to imported tapes because of the Soviet Regime.
I didn't know Aria Pro guitars till just a few minutes ago, i just came to YT to see how they sound and found your video. WOW!!! I am very interested in Fender Strats to get that Yngwie sound, but also would like to have kinda my own sound, would you recommend me getting an Aria Pro 2 o should stick to a Fender strat???
Hello! Aria Pro 2 guitars are fun to play and you can pick them up for a pretty good price on eBay. Nothing really beats a Strat for playing in the style Yngwie, but the Arias are definitely cool guitars and a lot cheaper. Thanks for watching
Schon within multitudes note pauses. Pauses along with designated note choices. Initial pause within this run, sustained pause, with very good sound quality.
Virtually all “neoclassical shred” rock guitar can be traced back thru one point in guitar history. Yes, there were many great shredders back then. And yes, other great players were beginning to explore this territory. But there is little question that the ‘mainstreaming’ of the fusion of classical elements into heavy rock soloing comes thru Ritchie Blackmore.
2:33: Hate to nitpick, but if we’re talking actual guitar style/phrasing he did NOT play the open strings for SOTW! Listen closely to what he plays, particularly while Purple still has Gillan and Glover. It’s either the EA strings, starting at 10th fret, or it’s the AD strings starting at 5th fret. And he did not rely on fuzz. The sound was boosted and aggressive, but clean.
