Such a great look at your picking. Trying to see how you cross without hitting and it stood out watching this how the depth of the pick adjusts to just the very tip when you get up to speed.
I use a regular Fender Heavy 351 pick. Just the normal shape. I think the type of pick and shape all depends on what picking motion you are using And how you hold it. I would go with what feels comfortable. Thank you for watching! 🙂
Very cool. You leave much more of the pick exposed than I thought you would at the speeds you play. What did you find best for limiting pick depth when you developed your technique? Great video.
I really didn't concentrate on the depth of the pick or how much was being exposed when I was learning to pick. I just concentrated on getting a good tone and a motion that felt good. And it end up being that I had a little bit more of the pick sticking out and I just sort of gravitated to using the tip of the pick naturally. For me I just concentrated on the tone first and everything else sort of fell into place. Thanks for watching!
@@wth522 Thanks for answering. Whatever you focused on it worked out great, obviously. Highlighting the fact that for all of the debate on picking techniques.. there is no one size fits all answer. It seems to be as individualized as a fingerprint. Again, great video 👍
Hello! I think it has more to do with how you hold the pick and what motion you use. I have a lot of pick sticking out, but when I am playing faster lines just the very tip of the pick touches the string. I think that is what matters the most. Either way can work. Thanks for watching! 🙂
