Nice joke! I live in former USSR and also i have no money; this video i've recorded like 4 years ago so my guitar skills are fucked up too; and i'm too old for this kind of events; and i'sure my performance is a cringe, as i mentioned
My guy. That was probably the MOST ACCURATE representation of a Big Black cover I've ever heard. You had tones in there that were incredible!!!!!! What gear are you using? The only bummer was you stopping before it ended. Shoulda kept going. I thoroughly enjoyed that.
I wasn't aiming for MOST ACCURATE cover for likes, i just been obsessed with reverse engineering of original Albini's tone. The crucial part of my old ass gear is high amplification pedal that consists of USSR electronic components (transistors), i'm not радиотехник, поэтому я не смогу объяснить тебе конкретно, how i it works. I've записывал it line-in and used 1 ruble coin as a pick, у которых есть так называемый "гурт" or "notches", whitch affects metal against metal, scratches e.t.c. I've stopped because my belt wearing was uncomfortable. And i'm glad that someone likes that kind of cringe stuff, thank you
High output DIY soviet or DDR pedal (with broken frequency resistor knob + high gain) into pedal with slight chorus into low volume amplifier (EQ: low treble, medium bass), new strings, 1 ruble coin with notches as a pick, cheap audacity software reverb (it really does a half of the tone), all of that gives lots of even harmonics - thats what it makes sound like that i guess. Can't say i'm sure about the physic stuff of how it works
It's some old ass soviet DIY pedal named "heavy metal" lol, with a little bit of chorus kod ce-02. The thing that makes it sound like this is lots of even harmonics i guess.
