Gurren Lagann was ahead of its time. For an anime made in 2012 it beast most anime made today in terms of animation. This what happens when teams ain't rushed
I watched this show once, and never again did i watch it. Dont get me wrong, the show was awesome and i loved it but i felt like it was a sad ending for simon who saved the universe but lost everything.
Corniest line ever BUT nothing worth having comes easy... we tend to look up to other people, and admire them because of how they make something so difficult look so easy... while forgetting to appreciate that it took them years of consistent daily practice to be that good...
Kamina had me doing pushups mid episode icl this mf such a next-level motivator Brother genuinely had me getting ready for when I go to war against giant mechs being controlled by beastmen. Like, I actually had to pull myself back down to earth and remind myself that there are no beastmen oppressing us with giant robots💀 Dude made me think "yeah im gonna believe in myself and do whatever I want and nobody is gomna be able to stop me" like there was no law enforcement in my area I remember when I first watched this show, the one thing that stuck with me the most was "believe in the me that believes in you" and the way that sentence developed over time. 14 out of 5 stars character
The sense of movement and weight in 3S animation makes it feel so much more impactful and solid than the 3D modeled sequels they've done since. Those have just too many frames that don't do anything except "mAkE iT SmOoTh" (really it just makes them feel sluggish and slow compared to how crisp and fast 3S looks and feels). Compare the crouching roundhouse animation in 3S with SF4 or 5's and you'll see what I mean.
dude now it sounds WAY better explaining the movement tbh i also loved how they make it feel natural or just painful for the viewer to watch soooo cool
