Top notch, definitely keeping this in the back-pocket for reference! Also lol, the split-second grimace when the animator hears they have to keep practicing. What a mood 😂
Worked on Japanese productions (but never as an tweener tho), however I feel like they mostly put the tweens right in the middle unless specified otherwise because of the low ammount of frames used for basic motions. Not really related to the video, I just think it's kinda cool to know. EDIT: My mind wandered off, I meant to say that they usually just have no slowdown unless specified otherwise. Silly me.
This video couldn't come at a better time! I'm right in the middle of In-between for a long breathing animation, that's a lot of time to fill between keyframes! :')
As someone who worked professionally doing inbetweens/cleanup, thirds really is how you need to do stuff most of the time - the inbetweens favor a side. (unless its a consistent movement that isnt easing in or out ofcourse) I used to always do halves in university because it was easier but with experience now thirds are just as easy for my brain to gauge, and the difference in movement quality surprised me. It just looks nicer! (also theres no shame in doodling a quick ruler and splitting it in three to figure out where the line should land)
@@AmazingAnimationAnalysis True, but the timing and spacing etc is talked about in the book. Pretty much the same thing. That's why it came to my mind.
