Here on American Electrician we do electrical how to videos as well as gear reviews such as tool bags, hand tools, and power tools. Just trying to learn, grow, and share some of it along the way!

I come from hvac but i swear by 12v everyone hates on it but idc it is the best. M18 is cool but if your climbing around in tight spots doung real work fatugue isnt really a problem i wanna worry about 😂
You do a great job with your channel. Licensed master electrical contractor. Most of my hand tools are pretty much Klein. I should get a new set of linesman’s like the orange ones. I still have the old blue ones that are pretty stiff.
I stuck mine on a diamondback 701 vest and it works OK. I would like if rhe pockets weren't so anged and the back clip is about useless since it puts the leather tunnel in your kidneys. They definitely left room for improvement.
I just modified mine (prev. version). Cut off the heavy velcro flap (tho I can stick it on for the tape holder if needed) which opens up that pocket. Also, made a 1" leather handle attached to the belt loop so I don't have to deal with the handle when it's on my belt with other pouches. I just drilled out some holes and used Chicago Screws to fasten it rather than rivets (a little Loctite Red will go in when I'm satisfied with it). Big fan of the Milwakee M12 stuff as the option of 2 battery forms is awsome. 18V stuff is too heavy/bulky for most things I do. For the impact and other tools, I've been using the Spider setup - a hook worth a look.
I do low voltage, camera installations, network racks, etc. I thought I found the perfect pouch in the MP1X but it was missing a pouch for termination plugs and I was looking for a compact zipper pouch to clip on it then I see you drop this with the Velcro pouch and drill holder and I was instantly sold! May actually be the perfect pouch for me and my coworkers.
On a side note, it may be just a little too bulky for some of the spaces I get into, so the MP1X may still be the better choice, if anyone wears them, let me know how it fits and if it gets in the way
@cartharax4308 Obviously, you can still navigate a doorway, but I wouldn't go into a crawlspace with it. It's uncomfortable if you use the adjustable clip because it sits to high, so you're going to want to pass it through your belt. At the same time though, it comes with a handle so you can carry it in like a tool bag.
@@mang6654 by the way I used to carry a makita 7.2 drill in the pouch.( for trim out) my 12 volt driver fits also. But I don’t were a pouch , last 6 years!
I picked up a Knipex diag and I need to hit them up with a file. Just not as sharp out of the box as some of their other pieces I have. Honing one's sharpening skills is important. (sorry, had to). Yes, the 8" stripper/plier is a great design.
My Occidental stuff is 25+ years old. Roughly the same setup plus the sheepskin hip pads 'cause I'm posh AF. I've picked up a Veto TP2 and TP3B to try out and have modified them for some of the different things I do.
@@jeremypalmer7177 It has happened many times. My employees use these when there's no other option and the socket adapters break all the time. It's always better to use an impact wrench when using sockets. Impact drivers are not the right tool.
What he won't tell you is contractors will take months to respond back and how hard it is to get into. Contractors are not looking for new guys, they want guys with experience too. Its almost a lie like how college equals getting a job. Also no most of the guys are immature but get the work done. Personally I grew more as an adult in college than in trades
You also need Loyal , Competent , and well paid Grunts ; You can’t be everywhere at once ; Caesar didn’t stand alone ( cept when he got shanked [ yet another lesson from History ] !
Hi, I’m about to be apprentice electrician in a few weeks but I’m hesitant with my math skills like I’m literally bad at math. Can anyone confirm do you have to be extremely good at math?
Here's a few tips from European electrician: * If you want professional tools, buy German ones; * For a specific job, buy a specific tool; * One screwdriver with replaceable bits is better than ten screwdrivers with non-replaceable bits; * The best bag is a tool box.
I completely agree having that one go to tool, i still use my old 10.8v DeWalt dcf815 almost daily. I'll be devastated when it finally gives up but hopefully I'll avoid that, i recently installed a new motor and it got new batteries last year so it should keep going for a good while longer 🤞
You put your bits in a bit holder and put that bit holder in a designated pouch. Your basic tools that get used regularly should be in places that you can reach to blindly and grab what you're looking for. Bag design is so important, and most companies are turning our pouches, bags, and tool boxes into tool dumpsters with no functionality to the design. I hope this changes soon.
From what I understand they are the Witte screwdrivers. They used to just have Witte screwdrivers in their bundles, which are where I got this set from
This guy's a joke apprentice can't afford that quality they're first year or even two or working all those are top of the line brands veto, wera, Klein, even the tool belt but what you can afford and build it up later.
15:18 agree here, the Klein tool bag was a disaster for me and sold it used, basically new, as used 3 days and that was that. Went back to original setup, but still “looking” for THE SETUP to Rule them all, and it’s been 30 yrs, but who is t! Now, if your saying you stopped looking, trying the new bags, boxes, totes, pouches, on the market today b/c your setup in the All Time Ultimate best ever made period…. Ya hit me up and let me know what using, cuz me wants!✌🏻
8:12 even us plumbers admit a sparky is right when comes to Cobra pliers from Knipex…..they just that good, and make diff variants which are sweeeeeet! And yeah, I’m both an electrician and plumber (and started as a sparky 1st, then did plumbing, but not a fav by any means….do like my press tool though😃, but as a remodeler now, sure helps to know carpentry, electrical and plumbing,bi g….
7:26 imo, any brand adjustable pliers that have a nut on them, is something I loathe and cant stand. Why you should ask….. Well thanks, I’ll tell you. They suck! Always loosen and nut falls off; or they end up getting hard to move from one size or another, dare I say even get stuck somewhere in THE MIDDLE, or SOMEWHERE “IN BETWEEN” (if get reference, 👍🏻; if not, 👍🏻 as well), and continuous nut tightening or securing permanently isn’t a fix; so I’d say stay away from any brand that has that kind of “setup” and stick with the ones that don’t have a screw/nut and dipped/slide on grips etc….AS IT’ll make you bananas, it sure as 7734 will😉 And yes, any type of plier IS A HAMMER for us Sparkies; HOWEVER, YOU MUST USE THE SIDE OF THE TOOL, NEVER THE FACE ON EITHER SIDE, even Klein tells ya that, fyi! So, sides as hammer 👍🏻👍🏻right as rain in this 103° Florida heat; face as hammer is a NO GO( heck, ya like using your face as a hammer, didn’t think so, lol). Cheers ✌🏻
I like my southwire combo strippers (along with the NM strippers), but my Knipex auto self adjusting and forged strippers are my all time go to. If in another bag or truck, I’m grabbing my southwire. Just me, b7t feel good, hand grips don’t fall off and they keep going. Do I own Klein, yes I do and have them all as well, but they my 3rd to grab n unless doing tool specific on the job and then I’ll grab whichever brand has that tool…..
