I believe everyone has a simple kind of beauty within them. I feel inspired to create art with that beauty and see how a person can transform and project themselves with more confidence. Although the beauty part was always there it just needed a little enhancing. That feeling I get when I can help someone in that way has always driven me to teach others what I love and know how to do without holding anything back. I’ve literally watched over 20 videos, you are the 1st person who has been honest. THANK YOU! I almost gave up on trying this out for myself. Scary stuff cutting your own hair lol Turned out great though!
Thank you so much... I never leave comments.. But you're a saviour.. I needed this tutorial.. Out turned out so perfect.. Just as straight as shown in the video..thanks ❤❤❤
Hi Kristi, I hope you see this and reply. I have virgin level 3/4 hair. I used ultra bond powder bleach with 20 vol developer for baby lights on crown of my head . I took the foil out too soon and its light orange. Should i rebleach again to bring up to a 9ish and if you suggest that will i leave in these foils only a short time as it only needs to lighten a shade or two? Or should i do a demi permanent color with a blue tone with 10 developer? Im a 1st time DIYer and Im stuck on what to do. Thank you in advance for replying. I do have fine baby hair but the bleached orange strands dont seem compromised at all at this point.
this pretty sketchy of a technique, frankly. Yes you have a guide but, it gets messy with technique. just section and bring at all together, then you're guaranteed evenness. you could have sectioned a U-shape on the crown and then brought it all up, either in a ponytail or with fingers and simply cut.
Thanks so much for sharing! I am considering trying on my own, not happy with salon results anymore. Appreciate your time and explanation, I still have ALOT more to learn, thanks for moving me in the right direction.
Kristy, First of all, I love your videos!!! Just a suggestion, for some of the viewers that are critical on color videos, you may want to point out that the color you're seeing on your screen may not be the actual color because the tint control on ones device screen is not always true to color. As a matter of fact, it is near impossible to get true color on any device screen. However, you may be able to get close. My thoughts as a expert colorist. I mirrored your video on my TV from my computer and was amazed by the color difference. Keep up the great work. Raymond Marc
Thank you so much for your videos! I can count on one hand the amount of times I have been satisfied with a haircut. Stylists always cut it too short and there are pieces I need to touch up. I used your how to cut straight to take length off (I haven't had my hair cut for two years as I hate going) and then this video. I'm sure a professional could find faults but I am satisfied with the result and that's all that matters. Again, thank you! <3
Did you find a solution? My hair does the same thing. I’ve been using an Australian permanent dye from “The Shade” and they said to use their 27 developer because I have resistant hair and warm up the hair with my dryer to open the cuticle and put on a cap. Once again…hot roots. Plus, I’m not getting good coverage. You can still see what I call “twinkles” from the gray. I’m a natural level 4 and my hair is slowly going to a 5 with it being summer and I prefer it as a 5 but not with all this brassiness at the roots!! Was going to try a blue shampoo/conditioner until I find a solution. Don’t notice a link to ones that Kristy recommends in this post. Any advice would be great. Thanks!!
I've been using a 6nn and 7nn for years as my base color. I've done highlights - triied some bleach but now Iz'm going gray. I had grown out a lot of gray - tempted to "go gray" I left the bangs and side pieces to the side and used a 10nn and it looks great! Now my gray is coming back. Could I put the Ash blonde on the whole head? I know I cant lighten my brown but wiil it brighten it? Then tap brown on regrowth .. i am at an awkward state
I cut my own hair , and it's fine hair ... And I also had the vcut, and I cut just the point off , thanks ! Btw I am a hairstylist and do not like anyone to cut my hair ( thank God I found this😊 )
You are a goddess! Thank you for such a thorough explanation! I was going to attempt this at home, but after all these details… I’m going to see a professional and try touching up new gray hairs later. 💇🏻♀️❤️💇🏻♀️
Kristy, I can not get enough of you. You are the best professional in your area of expertise I ever seen. And the sincerity, goodness and honesty are oozing from you.
Kristy . I discover you 3 months or so. I'm watching your videos often, very professional and useful lessons. You are very knowledgeable. However what really got my attention was your personality. The honesty and goodness uzes from your heart. Amazing.
Kristy. I love your informative detailed videos. I have been coloring my roots for 16 years and when needed apply a few highlights. My roots are completely gray now. I have always used 20V with my color. So, if I understood correctly, in my case I should be using 30V? I've never done that as I thought it would damage the hair and cause it to be brassy. Although, I do notice the color fades quickly on the growth I have touch up. I know this is an older video, but if you see this could you please let me know if I should be using 30V on the root growth. Thanks so much!
Can you show us how to do this on a side part? Many of us can’t wear a middle part for various reasons and we can’t find anyone doing a side part. When I cut on the middle it’s gets really heavy with layers on one side with no layers on the other. I this this video would be a hit because there is not one out there. Thanks!!
Loved your video! If I have a client that is 70% grey, should I use 70% of the natural and then 30% of the fashion if I want to mix. My client likes cool so I was going to mix 6-0 with 7-12. thanks
Not sure if you are aware that Kristy has passed away due to brain tumor cancer in December 2023. I just googled and found out, so devastated. She was beautiful, sweet and talented. Hope you found your answer to your inquiry.
Did you say you were going to be coming back to make videos?? I’m in such a jam, and have a job interview next week. I’ve only got shades Eq color gloss, around 20% gray to blend and if it were only doing roots, I could figure that out. Yet it’s the ends I don’t know what to do with.
