I started breaking in 84 , I wass 13 , and was in a crew , we used to go spats on a Saturday morning in London, great days , I ended up at 15 being filmed for channel 4 in a youth club I went to, my mate said he saw the clip and said they used me in the ad for the programme , I never got to see it , but I was the first person to be filmed doing halos in the UK, ice c ice , Newyork city breakers was the guy who created them .
What's crazy I just found out crazy legs said they were breaking to a whole different song I hope it doesn't ruin it for anyone but still everyone did their thing

The M. C. voice during the opening credits is NONE OTHER than DLB (The Microphone Wizard) if The Fearless 4. I know this because it is me. In fact, I was hand picked for this gig by the legendary Harry Belafonte In the closing credits did not use my stage name ( for some reason) instead using my full government, which gives my initials “DLB”. Thanks to all of you who enjoyed my performance and have maintained fond memories of this work.
just remember in this battle rock steady crew only had 6 members and one was a girl baby love and NYC breakers had 8 members that night at the roxy club i was there if mr freeze was there and wiggles NYC BREAKERS had know chance even tho there both still amazing break dancers both crews big love and respect and. RIP to kuruaki glide and buck 4 . god bless you all.
I saw this and Breakin back in 84 in theatres. Breakin was good but Beat Street was more realistic, darker, better music and dance battles. There several more Breakdance movies that came out in the 80s but this and Breakin are the 2 most memorable ones.
They just erased us. I will never be a part of this millennium and my kids be on my back do that today. You don’t want to do shit I don’t give up never mind
I went to the Roxy the Funhouses Roseland in 1983 to check out the moves . We danced we danced our asses off broke with no money in our pockets but the DJ was our friends . JELLYBEAN the Mexican was a go to for me. FRESH CITY BREAKERS. thank you Rockers what great times
If you couldn’t breakdance, you Uprocked, pop locked or electric slid(moonwalk as y’all know it) back then ♥️. It’s VERY difficult to find those Puma tracksuits nowadays 😅
One of my favorite scenes…that dam Doin it! Song has haunted me for almost 40 years 😩 …and I just found out that Guy Davis (double K) is the son of one of the most beautiful black Hollywood couples Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, mind blown🤯
