I started shooting archery at the age of six in Elma, New York, a small town outside of Buffalo. From the first shot, I was hooked. Initially, it was a hobby, but slowly archery developed into a Lifestyle. Being a professional archer is about being an ambassador for the sport, and fellow archers while remaining focused on sharing my motivational affirmation "I Am." I Am Passion, Growth, Innovation, Motivation. I Am. I Am an Archer. I Am an Olympian. I Am Jake Kaminski.

Through my RU-vid channel, I have been dedicated to providing in-depth tutorials and analysis on various aspects of archery, including form, equipment setup, and testing. It brings me immense joy to witness the progress and growth of fellow archers around the world.

As usual lovely to see the trad set up❤ I've always visualised the movement of the elbow to determine alignment and also visualise the end of the shot(follow through) as where the elbow ends up. I just feel too many people fixate that their fingers should finish at the neck/ear but shouldn't that be driven by the expansion of the whole unit rather than just where the fingers end? Also my follow through is not explosive but rather much softer. Don't know if that is wrong, but I fixate on where my elbow is going rather. Love your stuff sir as ever 🏹🏹🏹

When training new people we also notice the release is one of the harder things to learn. Lots of plucking and two step releases. Personally for me it helped thinking about he rotation of the shoulder. Some things I would love to see is letting the bow swing in front of you. For me it’s always hitting my upper leg. An other one which maybe is silly but different ways to put an arrow on. Some people put it on their foot and hold the arrow my the end and slide it in. Otthers like Jake are making it look so smooth. Especially holding the clicker open to slide it in I stuggle with.

Been subscribed since I took up archery a year ago. Another brilliant form tip. Your coaching videos have helped my development so much and I regularly recommend them to all new archers at my club. Many many thanks Jake.

Between these vids and the total archer book sold on Jake's website my shooting has drastically improved! I am loving the challenge, it is 10x easier tagging black at the 500m line in the usmc than trying to hold an 8" group with the ol' 🐻 at the 25m. Once again thank you Jake!

Jake, I like it!!! Question, maybe address in future video.....I notice you shoot with a glove. Any distinct advantage over a tab in your opinion? It's time for someone to do a DEEP DIVE on this age old debate to see who is king, Tab or Glove!?! Also if either effect arrowflight any differently, pro/cons so on and so forth. You da man to put the debate to rest!

It really is crazy how much alignment and back tension help every other aspect of the shot. I jumped from 230 to 270 just from alignment fixes alone

He, i just recognized i have the exact same problem, when i shoot 3 arrows the problem isn't apparent, but when i shoot 6 in one round i get fatigued so much that i have problems shooting the 5th and 6th arrow. with proper posture i dont have problems with the 5th and 6th.

How much of the release is driven by tension and direction? How much push or reaching toward the target creates a good release.?

Attention: This applies to all disciplines of archery! The majority of compound archers who use a trigger release (thumb or index) are not using expansion to trigger the release! Few hinge shooters shoot with expansion either; most are rotating the hinge to fire without expansion. Check yourself; and other shooters… told ya! JaKe’s demo is spot-on for all of archery! I’d give this a thousand likes if I could!!!

A couple of people have asked me why I'm bothering to tune my arrows, and this video does slightly support their argument that if they're hitting where you're aiming when fletched, why bother? But my argument back is that A: I like tinkering with stuff like this, and B: if you can do everything possible to help the arrow along the way, why not? It's not particularly onerous, and it's certainly not going to hurt!

Hey Jake I love your videos I’m a traditional recurve shooter and I’ve learned everything I know from your barebow form series 🙌🏼 Would you ever do a traditional recurve series? Or if not, would you say it’s about the same but with no crawl? Thanks!

JAKE!!! Hi ! 😏 62" Spyder Takedown Recurve I pull around 28lbs (don't know if/when to go up, cuz I have the next set of limbs... Soooo, you are the only one out of ALL the videos I've watched since I started shooting who's style I use.... I probly could've worded that better lol... Anyways, big fan so... I DO this just like your doing, I've done it like this since I 1st saw this video which was a year ago when I started... On my birthday! 😁 But they still hurt. I think I pluck. Cuz I release and their on fire for a min..should I wrap something around them like tape? I read a forum and a guy said that.

As a newbie to archery, the follow through video was very helpful. Was wondering why you let the bow drop forward after the shot? I've seen other archers do this in some competition videos.

I just purchased 3 vintage Chck-it archery target sights for less than $75.00 each, Chck-it was the sight every target archer had in the 1970's/80's. I also got 2 Easton X-7 target Stabilizer for $30.00 on eBay, I'm 64 so I'm "vintage" myself and understand the old stuff and they are good enough.
