Hi Dan, great work as always. Just had a question on an unrelated issue.......would using Hardie Plank (slate grey) for Dormer cladding still be under PD or does it need to go into planning? I have a red tile on my roof and really love the slate grey Hardie plank board but would rather avoid going down the planning route...any advice for me?
Looks great! Did the floor mounted AC unit require planning as it looks like it's a split system with the outdoor unit hung high up on the side of the house?
Looks really amazing. I can’t quite get my head around the layout though. Right hand door onto landing? Middle into walk in and through to the en-suite? So what’s the left hand door? Is that attic space and the cylinder?
Great space, similar size to what we ended up with as a master en-suite 5-7.5m, didn’t need to split the rooms so went for the one big room, love it. Our wardrobe isn’t quite up to the size of this one though. Great job Dan and the team, keep it up.
Dan I am having dramas with our loft plans with it being a timber framed new build quote has be upped 15-20k Be interesting to see the steel layout to get around no supporting internal walls. That could a video. Great as normal love the videos. ❤
This video was very helpful. My question to you is, what if I wanted to make it self-contained with a small kitchen area. I wanted to do something for my daughter. The cost for our children buying a house these days is ridiculous. How much more would adding a kitchen/sitting area cost. Many thanks.
Yes you can! We done that in the past. But like anything cost of kitchen varies so much. But it’s going cost a good few k more if builder supplies. But labour could see being more that 2-3k depending sizes and specs
I have a 5 year old "new build" timber frame, generally I feel timber frame home owners are reluctant to look at loft conversions to gain space as they are unsure how it works and may contain unseen costs due to construction type. Can you explain the difference , ie steel placement, loadi gs etc... when there are no massive supportting walls etc.. and what the main difference is between the differing house construction types when looking to convert the loft ?? If there is none please excuse my ignorance ...
I live in Leeds, and I need a rear facing dormer adding to a detached house - I can do all the final fixing and decorating myself, I just need someone do the two RSJs and roofing for me for about 15 sqm of roof and the adjoining walls. What do you reckon cost wise?
@@djmooreloftconversionspeci458 is that 5.8 to the stud walls or existing space? This is something I’d wish you’d do in your videos. Be great to know pitch and dimensions of the loft space pre work, thanks. PS can you upload more I check every other day I love them 😂
