I'm sorry you're dealing with it; I've been dealing with it for almost 2 decades... well, you saw the video. These days I listen to ambient movie music to help me fall asleep, and when I'm driving for work. I'm good as long as I'm doing some kind of action most of the time, such as watching videos or listening to audiobooks when I'm walking. Whenever the beat in my head starts to feel overwhelming, I do one of those two things downloaded to my phone so I can put them on whenever I need them. Some people can use white noise and some find other sounds that helps them get past it. I hope you find your solution for comfort as soon as you can.

The WABAC (pronounced “wayback”) machine was from the Peabody's Improbable History segment of the early 1960s cartoon series The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. The machine was constructed by Mr. Peabody, a professorial, bow tie-wearing dog, to be able to visit famous historical events. I thought of this first.

Except for maybe 2 or 3, every ambient music file I download is at least an hour long; some of them are 5 hours long, but the average is 3 hours; if I play them continuously it'll last 2 1/2 days. Those eliminate hearing a lot of the repeats when I'm sleeping, and I've reached the stage where if I'm playing them while I'm at the computer I don't notice it much because the music allows me to concentrate on what I need to do; it's been very helpful and relaxing. I wish you the best of luck.

The two products I bought, and did videos on, are Heat Lockers and Heat Holders. I remember that when Dad got a low it would hit him hard. Therefore he was scared of it and tried his best for it not to occur, taking his sugar levels 4 times a day. Before meals and then again at night before going to bed. If he thought it was too low at night he would eat something before going to bed. Unfortunately, it didn't always work. :(

I just went through almost 24 hours of dealing with lows; seems I haven't been paying attention to how I'm eating... or if I'm eating. I didn't hit 1,000 calories yesterday because I wasn't feeling good; that's got to stop, but I did gain control over overheating... at least I think I did.

Hi Mitch! Good video! I have been pre-diabetic for 25 years, and before I had Hyperactive Hypoglycemia. For some time I would feel like my blood sugar was crashing- outside, hot, working, sometimes at night, etc. I’d eat something, largely because my horrible lows are so imprinted by the Hypo. Last fall I got a CGM and was shocked that my crashing feeling wasn’t due to my blood sugar being too low. Often it wasn’t bad, but if I ate it shot up and that felt bad. Anywhoooo the CGM really helped me learn more and tweak out my meals and snacks to have a balanced blood sugar. Have you tried one? I was using them and Mounjaro for 6 months before turning 65, and now I can’t get insurance to pay for either (no need at all to help obese seniors). I have kept my CGM’s to dole out/use during bad eating times. Still working on Semaglutides.

I thought I mentioned it in this video, but I must have mentioned it in my other video on my other channel. I have the Freestyle Libre 3, and I've had some issues with them that have gotten on my last nerve. The first sensor lasted 12 days, the second only 6 days. The one I have now has been working for 2 days, but if it doesn't make it through the 14 days I'm calling the company and complaining about the reader (which I thought was called a monitor) saying it has to be that instead of sensor issues. I've been on Novolin for about 10 years, as previous types and my body didn't quite get along (rashes and skin issues). Since I've lowed my dose I've only had one minor crash that was easy to deal with. I also lowered the heat on my electric blanket, and even though my glucose drops some, I haven't crashed and that's much better for me.

After about two weeks, my feet started feeling better, and though I didn’t have much hope it would work I started thinking it might have. at the end of the week however, the pain came back. So, I’m not sure if it’s helping, but I’m gonna finish the rather big bottle I got, and any help will be appreciated. I hope it’s still working for you, have a good Saturday!
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 3 месяца назад
@@bobhendricks4024It's great that it worked initially, but I wonder why it stopped working since you're still taking it; in all these years, I've never had something I was taking orally or otherwise turn its back on me later on. The only thing I can suggest is to check your shoes to see if they're still cushioned well and aren't part of the cause of your foot pain. It might sound stupid, but just over a week ago I was having some foot pain and realized it was because I'd taken my orthotics out of the shoes I wore most of the time and put them into a different pair of shoes as a test and forgot to put them back where they belong; embarrassing! 😂

No telling why some things work for some and not others- body chemistry, etc. Sorry so late checking back, my back is out.

Mine didn’t stop until I deleted mostly all sugar, fried foods, deleted soft drinks, desserts, most starches, (essentially went to a Med diet); started an intense exercise regime; added a plethora of vitamins and minerals; began eating a ton of salads and vegetables, and only wore THE most comfortable shoes. I also, backed off the alcohol to only having a drink on weekends and occasionally. I drink a ton of water now. I have also used Vicks and Blue Emu. They help with flare ups, Foot soaking and foot exercises also helped. But mostly, seven months of eating properly with supplements and exercise; and it doesn’t really flare up hardly at all. The thing is, I didn’t change my lifestyle because of neuropathy. I just wanted to be healthier, so I sought out foods that promote health like salmon, dark leafy greens, olive oil, broccoli, nuts, blueberries, an occasional sweet potato, cucumber, avocados, and I started eating that every day, No sweets! The neuropathy just started going away. I am 65, medium build, not diabetic (but was on my way). And I changed everything about 7 months ago. Hope this helps.
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 3 месяца назад
I've been diabetic since 1997; things got worse over time because other than being requested to change my diet (which actually messed this up for a while), I wasn't given any other information. I basically went on a walking regimen, and I've walked at least 5 miles every day since 2014. Diabetes changes things though. I'm one of the few people who has problems keeping potassium low, so I can't eat all the vegetables that were recommended for me. If I only eat protein, other problems arise. So it's more of a balanced diet to deal with along with insulin... and I still get to eat a bit of dessert every night. :-) At least my feet are feeling better, ignoring the numbness.

Interesting. For those that don't know, Neuropathy can feel like knives being thrust into various parts of your limbs, out of the blue, and it's excruciating at times! Having had T1D Neuropathy for many years I relate to the frustration of not being helped by the conventional Health (Wealth) System. I mean Endocrinologists literally had no idea and could only suggest pharmaceutical maybes, with all of their inherent side effects - go figure! For me the relief only truly occurred when I improved my BGL/HBA1C to very good levels, and now it hardly ever happens. Oh I should add that I'm moving/walking a lot more now in my job, and I believe that helps quite a bit.
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 3 месяца назад
My endocrinologist (actually, the nurse assistant) is worried because my A1c is at 5.3, and she thinks that's too low... which I thought was the point of lowering it in the first place. Of course, now that I think about it, I don't believe I've ever mentioned my foot issues to them, only too my podiatrist; that's wild!
@lolly_bread
@lolly_bread 3 месяца назад
@@MitchMitchellStories Amazing control you've achieved - well done! I don't think I could achieve a 5.3 A1C due to the constant risk of lows, It's different for everyone of course, but manually injecting insulin and doing physical activity means the margin of error, to the downside, is quite slim, for me anyway, so I'm not trying for much lower than low to mid 6s - at this point. I'm am presently focusing on reducing the Glucose Variability and staying in a tighter range. Oh the joys of T1D life :|
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 3 месяца назад
I'm actually type 2; diagnosed in 1997. And it's interesting because I didn't realize until a few weeks ago that I've been talking about lows for more than 10 years. I also just learned via my own research that just reducing my insulin wasn't controlling the lows; sometimes at night I start overheating, and that drastically lowers my glucose levels, since they're already on their way down, if slower. Still, my feet feels better, so it's one less thing to worry about.

It's a much different country than it was in 2008 or even 2012. One can't underestimate the tactics of the orange menace to get people to support him no matter what he does, gets accused of and convicted of... with more coming. The problem in our country is that even if Biden wins with the most votes, we have to deal with the Electoral College, with the intention of giving smaller states more of a chance to make a difference as opposed to just counting the regular votes. Hillary Clinton won by over 3 million votes in 2016, Biden won by more than 7 million votes, but both elections came down to one state putting the winning candidate over the edge. That's where we are again right now.

Thanks for your comment. I tried to help by telling people what's worked and not worked for me when it comes to certain issues. I was shocked this actually worked for me; in general terms, not everything a physician has suggested over the years has come through, so I'm glad this did.

Do you have a diabetic neuropathy or something else?
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 4 месяца назад
Oddly enough, that's an interesting question; after nearly 30 years, not one of my care givers has ever gone that far across the board. However, I was diagnosed in 1999 after I got a traffic ticket for going too fast in a work zone, missing a sign I never saw. Then I noticed I couldn't see road signs driving home after work, and I'd had an eye exam only 2 months earlier and all was good. Two days later I was diagnosed as having diabetes (helps that I worked in a hospital). As I look back on it, I've had or have other issues pop up, all eventually related to diabetes.

Congratulations Mitch. I notice you now have over 1k subscribers and I wanted to know how many subscribers that video got. Your video most likely went viral because you hit on a subject that interests folk. then if it helped them they shared it with other folk. Sure, if that person or persons have a lot of subscribers then that is going to help any video go viral. Sometimes it also depends on RU-vid. For some reason, RU-vid may put your video at the top of the search and the exposure gets you a lot more views depending on the title and thumbnail. That's happened to a few of my videos. Then RU-vid decides to shove it out of view and so people can't click on it if they can't see it. Some of my videos have high impressions and click-through rates but the views aren't there because RU-vid has decided to not put it out there.
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 4 месяца назад
I was thinking that happened; wish I could figure out how to happen more often. The weird thing about it is that particular video only has a watch time around 23% out of now almost 48K views... which tells me a lot of people decided not to watch it once they got there. Oh well, at least I hit my target number early this year.

@MitchMitchellStories doctors suggest Ala but taking the synthetic version will absolutely stop you from being able to get the full benefit from it because it blocks your body from absorbing the real form. So it's not recommended to suggest taking the synthetic form.

I am wondering if you had your foot issues before covid shots. Is your foot because of cloting or nerve damage from a accident or a surgery? I am also wondering about blood preasure or any impacts on your liver.
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 4 месяца назад
Was 2012 before Covid? lol That's when I started having foot issues and when I started going to a podiatrist. It kept getting worse over the years, even after getting custom orthotics, as I also had ankle issues for a while. No cancer or liver issues, just diabetes since '97. Started getting that under control around 2015, lost around a total of 70+ pounds, and I've walked at least 5 miles every day since the summer of 2014, even through the pain, finally switched podiatrists, learned about alpha lipoic acid in November and no pain since the beginning of December. Still some numbness, but I can deal with that for now.
