Thanks Mitch! I've been searching all over for someone who has experienced positive results from a vitamin regime. There are tuns of sites selling vitamins for P.N. but I'm not seeing many positive results reported. What you're experiencing is exactly what the Vitamin Vendors are touting but I've seen few examples of success. I would love to hear more people with positive results. Perhaps you could make another video and ask viewers to respond if they have had good results. I'll check back with you later to see how you're doing. May you be blessed with more health improvement!!!

Thanks Stephen (I hope I got the first name correct)! I'll see how it goes down the line, but I'm appreciating how many people have seen this one already. The pain is gone, but my feet are still cold; then again, I live in northeastern New York, where the temperatures lately are pretty cold. 😂

I discovered your little video while researching my foot/leg neuropathy. You're very cute and I enjoyed your little presentation. I have done other research into this item and it does seem to be fairly well known with some limited research to the positive and will give this a try. Your dosage recommendation was very helpful as most sites and documents don't even give a range for use. I have been using castor oil and it has been surprisingly effective in the two weeks of my trial. I rub the oil on my feet then use heavy plastic bags on my feet as socks and such will absorb the oil.
@MitchMitchellStories

Thanks for your comment. I've never seen or used castor oil in my entire life, though I might have seen it on TV decades ago. In a previous video I talked about all the different things I tried before I heard about the alpha lipoic acid, but all of those offered very temporary relief. I hope it delivers some comfort to you.

Thanks for sharing. This is so much more believable than many of the scientific papers and expert videos. I have an idiopathic neuropathy now complicated with type 2 diabetes. I’ve taken b vitamins for years and alpha lipoic acid for a year or so and not had much pain just numbness. And I’m a neurosurgeon with a degree in biochemistry. I really appreciate information from a credible source such as yourself.

Thanks; I just shared how it's worked for me. BTW, you shocked me by saying you found it in your Walmart. Mine still doesn't carry it in the store, but it's now showing on their website where you can order it and either pick it up or have it delivered to your home. It wasn't online in November because I asked a person at the desk about it, but maybe it was just out of stock; that'll make things easier, so thanks for that. 😁

Thanks Mitch! I think the thing I’m finding is no clear cure. What works for one person might not work for another. My Neurologist is a great proponent of Gaba. It did nothing for me until I got to a high enough dosage and it started ruining my memory. They gave me Lyrica. Even though I’m on Monjauro it made me ravenously hungry. Problem with that is the Neurosurgeon could operate on a badly pinched nerve to give me relief, but I have to lose 75lbs. to get the surgery. To make a short story long, I have pretty much given up and I’m just toughing it out. Thank you for your vids!!! I’m stuck in bed today due to the horrible feet pain. Your being so diligent and determined looking for help has inspired me to try. I’m going to try the Alpha Lipoic Acid and massage. Also the Vicks for old time sake if nothing else. If these don’t work I’ll keep trying!

I wish you good luck, Bob. I've had to give up the Vicks because my feet started feeling tender; always something, right? lol The alpha lipoic acid is still working well, and I'm down to a slight throb that I easily ignore most of the time, which is definitely a nice change.

From what I read, it does something to lower the blood sugar, so it might be stabilizing your diabetes, Mitch. Certainly it's doing something good - you look like you're healthily glowing!

I have to disagree with your assessment. I've shared what I have researched for this particular video in the comments, and there's not a single medical facility or entity that says the R makes any difference. I've had what I consider a great success in killing the pain that was in my feet without using the R. In the long run, try the one you want to use, and if it works then you're good, and if it doesn't work for you you can try the other one.

Interesting. For those that don't know, Neuropathy can feel like knives being thrust into various parts of your limbs, out of the blue, and it's excruciating at times! Having had T1D Neuropathy for many years I relate to the frustration of not being helped by the conventional Health (Wealth) System. I mean Endocrinologists literally had no idea and could only suggest pharmaceutical maybes, with all of their inherent side effects - go figure! For me the relief only truly occurred when I improved my BGL/HBA1C to very good levels, and now it hardly ever happens. Oh I should add that I'm moving/walking a lot more now in my job, and I believe that helps quite a bit.
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 6 месяцев назад
My endocrinologist (actually, the nurse assistant) is worried because my A1c is at 5.3, and she thinks that's too low... which I thought was the point of lowering it in the first place. Of course, now that I think about it, I don't believe I've ever mentioned my foot issues to them, only too my podiatrist; that's wild!
@lolly_bread
@lolly_bread 6 месяцев назад
@@MitchMitchellStories Amazing control you've achieved - well done! I don't think I could achieve a 5.3 A1C due to the constant risk of lows, It's different for everyone of course, but manually injecting insulin and doing physical activity means the margin of error, to the downside, is quite slim, for me anyway, so I'm not trying for much lower than low to mid 6s - at this point. I'm am presently focusing on reducing the Glucose Variability and staying in a tighter range. Oh the joys of T1D life :|
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 6 месяцев назад
I'm actually type 2; diagnosed in 1997. And it's interesting because I didn't realize until a few weeks ago that I've been talking about lows for more than 10 years. I also just learned via my own research that just reducing my insulin wasn't controlling the lows; sometimes at night I start overheating, and that drastically lowers my glucose levels, since they're already on their way down, if slower. Still, my feet feels better, so it's one less thing to worry about.

@stephenphillips4984
@stephenphillips4984 8 месяцев назад
Then the improvement was likely psychosymatic and would not occur for most other people because the "S" (cheaper) form is synthetic and NOT absorbed by the body. Just because some medical websites don't distinguish between the two does not imply that it does not matter. There are many clinical studies that confirm the NECESSITY of the use of the NATURAL (R) form, as opposed to the synthetic (S) variety that you took. The treatment with alpha lipoic acid is well-known to specialists in peripheral neuropathy and improvement usually take several months to occur. The fact that you noticed pain had gone only after two weeks is evidence that it was psychosymatic. You are misleading people if you keep pushing your claim that S-alpha limpoic acid could work for others. @@MitchMitchellStories

I have Edema due to foot neuropathy. Can i use ALA ? Kindly guide. Thanks
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 8 месяцев назад
Well... first, I'm not a doctor, so in general terms I don't want to confirm how it works with edema. However, there's some research that shows it's safe to use it, though none suggesting how well it will work with "humans"; that's intriguing. This study gives it some promise that it "could" happen, as they tested it on a rat kidney in 2023: link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00005-023-00682-z. Overall, it's safe to use for other things such as foot pain. I know it's safe using it if you have diabetes, which is what I have, so it should be safe to try.

No, I don't have that issue. I felt it a little bit before I started taking this supplement, and I haven't had any problems since; it might have been a side effect of my foot pain. Here's the thing; my doctor mentioned it to me, I decided to do some research, and I was only going to take the advice of hospitals or doctors; no one else (I've worked in health care for 40 years; the one time I took a supplement recommended by a non-doctor I had issues...). That's why I felt safe saying what I discovered and what it's done for me; a few others have come here and not one has said it didn't work for them. There's a debate about which type of ALA one should take, but I'm staying out of that one and sticking to my doctor-hospital information. If you decide to take it, I hope it works for you; let us know.

No idea; I've never heard of any of those things. With that said, if I can't find a hospital or physician study, I'm probably not taking it. There's a lot of people on RU-vid offering suggestions about the next big thing; I could be accused of doing the same thing, but in my case I mentioned that my podiatrist recommended it from a medical magazine he read it in, and if you've ever seen one of those you'll know they'll have listed at least one study of the problem. I found others on my own, and for around $9 it seemed worth taking a chance... and it worked out. 😇

I am wondering if you had your foot issues before covid shots. Is your foot because of cloting or nerve damage from a accident or a surgery? I am also wondering about blood preasure or any impacts on your liver.
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 7 месяцев назад
Was 2012 before Covid? lol That's when I started having foot issues and when I started going to a podiatrist. It kept getting worse over the years, even after getting custom orthotics, as I also had ankle issues for a while. No cancer or liver issues, just diabetes since '97. Started getting that under control around 2015, lost around a total of 70+ pounds, and I've walked at least 5 miles every day since the summer of 2014, even through the pain, finally switched podiatrists, learned about alpha lipoic acid in November and no pain since the beginning of December. Still some numbness, but I can deal with that for now.

Do you have a diabetic neuropathy or something else?
@MitchMitchellStories
@MitchMitchellStories 7 месяцев назад
Oddly enough, that's an interesting question; after nearly 30 years, not one of my care givers has ever gone that far across the board. However, I was diagnosed in 1999 after I got a traffic ticket for going too fast in a work zone, missing a sign I never saw. Then I noticed I couldn't see road signs driving home after work, and I'd had an eye exam only 2 months earlier and all was good. Two days later I was diagnosed as having diabetes (helps that I worked in a hospital). As I look back on it, I've had or have other issues pop up, all eventually related to diabetes.

I've learned that everything doesn't work for everyone. For instance, I can't eat as healthy as a lot of people because I have a high potassium issue, which means I can't eat many vegetables and things like salmon and potatoes, which works well for others. Still, I hope that what worked for me works for many others.
