Lovely chub! Great videos, too, and I subscribed recently after discovering your channel. I’ve only been with FAS for one season and hoping to try the Loddon for the first time in the near future - your content has been really helpful, even if this particular one is a good few years old now! Many thanks and tight lines 🎣🐟
Thoroughly enjoyable, the best catch of my life had just gone up to bed, so that's a mug of tea and a plate of toast for me whilst enjoying your fishing! I recently showed my grandson how to use a bait dropper on the river Adur down here in Sussex, he'd never heard of them before,🤔 but, he did like the idea of them once he'd seen them!🤫👍👍👍👍👍
I love all your videos Dave, I live in Reading and had no real luck since November cant wait for the rivers to drop and slow so I can get out chubbing !
Thanks Jason, yeah the weather has been awful.. I've only been out chubbing once this winter. Hopefully the Rivers will get back fishable before the end of the season, especially the Thames.. fingers crossed 🤞
Just wonder Dave why you havnt answered people's questions about where on the stour you were an explanation might be nice as to why instead of just ignoring them just saying
@billwarner5357 : Obviously you’re an occasional angler. You wouldn’t ask a Stupid question like that otherwise !!!!! Next week if he goes back there every Tom,Dick,Harry and Bill Warner will be lining the banks. Try doing the hard work yourself !!!
Great video & nice pike. Have you had any success piking on the Kennet? I'm thinking about a piking campaign after the Christmas break & I don't recall ever seeing anyone piking on the Kennet since I started fishing it 3 winters ago!
Hi Andrew, they are in the Kennet. However, I would favour the canalized canal stretches myself. I've know of some nice fish coming from those areas. Good luck with your campaign 👍
Glad I found your channel, enjoyable and informative. I lost faith in the hair rig for Chub but interesting to see how you used it on a bolt style rig. I guess it's cheesepaste time for you again now were in to November and the weathers turned? ATB MMMD
Nice to see you back Dave, some lovely chub. And the Roach was a beauty too. One thing I would say though, most anglers when they catch large fish, tend to say it's a female. But apart from Tench and Pike, I don't think you can tell the difference. Bream in the breeding season is another. I could be wrong.
Hello Dave, love your videos. Are they club waters you fish or day ticket waters? I only go 5/6 times a year the boats have died down. Keep up the good work!
@chasingshadows-ananglingob2295 been fishing Avon. Had a 4lb 40z and3lb 8oz on cheese paste. Lots,of weed coming down on the Avon at present. Just a joy to watch you.
I noticed in previous vids you weighed your catch with the rueben heaton 9000 scales and now you use korum...I've just bought the ruebens mate after looking at mixed reviews...whats your thought on them dave.
HI Kev, to be honest I had no problem with the Ruebens until they gave up on me after about three years of use. I do find the Korum better and more forgiving. I lost my tackle bag in the River Wye with my Korums scales in it, however after dragging it out of the river the korums still worked! and i do give them a good workout using them recommend
Nice chub there Dave, & the roach was a cracker too, always look forward to your videos. The swim looked great, is that a day ticket water or a club stretch? Liked the look of it. Well in mate.
Another enjoyable video. Interesting that you use a hair and a bolt rig for Chub fishing, that's not something I would have ever considered. I was always told that hair rigs don't work for Chub. It clearly does though so I will have to give it a go. Thanks
A long hair if you was using for barbel don't really work, chub are renown for holding the bait and hesitating before the take...hence the shorter hair nearer the hook and the bolt affect.
You similar to my style & way of doing things & also love the chub & Dave some cracking fish their my friend & cant wait for my next session, tight lines
Hi Lee, i love to keep mobile, so i try to keep my tackle to a minimum when chub fishing. Chub are my favorite species if you've not already guessed lol. Be lucky Lee and tight lines.
Thanks for watching, yes the Thames is an amazing water. I'm only just getting my head around it at the moment, so much to learn. The rewards are there tho 😊🎣👍
Thanks for the video Dave. Love this channel. Your kit and style of fishing is similar to mine, difference being you catch much better fish. Keep them coming, cheers! 👍
Hi Andrew, they are sticky baits krill, soaked in a hot chorizo sauce with some boilie crumb sprinkled over them. Unfortunately, the boilies I was using was a little too soft as the kray fish were destroying them in minutes. That krill is a harder bait. Thanks for watching..😊

Talking about gear I've got the same chair as you and store my unhooking mat in the same place as you. Its an handy crevice to have for that purpose as long as your strap is placed so its not upside down and can't fall out when your mooching around. 👍
