come across your channel, love it, like your style sir, I fish alot of free stretchs and I find they do hold some cracking fish too, keep up the good work, cheers craig
Good stuff again Dave 👍 thanks for sharing that rig I will be giving it a try on my local stretch this winter. 3x Chub over 5lb is stuff of dreams😮👍 . Keep the vids coming mate 🎣
Yorkshire River Rover - thanks buddy, it works really well now as a lot of the weed has died off. I think it would work really well on your river. Let me know how you get on.
Thanks Thomas, it's one of favourite rigs and what I like about it is you don't only attract chub on it I've have good roach, bream and carp in the winters months. Thanks for watching👍
WyeanglerTV - thanks mate, yes it's a good spot. On my first visit I had three chub over 5lb! and a few Thames roach with one at 1lb 6oz I believe it holds barbel as well and all for free. Happy days... 😀
Really enjoying your videos mate! I'm on a real mission to catch a decent chub. Haven't had one over 1lb yet :-( but am gonna try this method this week!
Just home with a nice cuppa and decided to watch your blog....a nice way to relax at the end of the day! The question I would like to ask you dave, is what sort of bead do you choose when using the feeder in this particular setup, & do you use the same mainline breaking strain to tie the feeder to that particular boom section, or do you use a weaker breaking strain incase of snagging etc? catch up soon mate...your giving me inspiration to try the Thames...it's just a tad daunting to me as it's a big water venue locally to me and don't know how to go about tackling it.😲😂
Hi Julian, I tend to use Sainsbury's mid range large slice bread 50p per loaf, but don't buy there really cheap range as I've found it to be a little dry! For this rig i use the main line right through to the hook 6lb breaking strain. I have the cage feeder connected to a small swivel on a 4 inch loop of line of about 4 lb breaking strain so if it gets snagged it will break only on the feeder.
Looking forward to it! I'd like a few better roach this winter. Had a go on the thames the other week, had just the one, about 12oz or so. Once the evenings draw out a bit, I'll head down the canal after work with some bread, see if I can sort out a few bigger ones...
Ha ha stupid me! Should put my glasses on... I am going to do a short video which will go more into depth on how to set this rig up as I've had a bit of interest from the video. Will post it shortly mate.
