Going for an upstroke after the pop feel really counterintuitive. Feels like I'm in a perfect position for a downstroke instead. Gotta practice that. Any tips?
Why is my beating arm so painful after one minute? I can't seem to keep any beat going. Very tiring. I imagine it's mechanics. I can't get a good pressure on the drum head and keep to a small area. Always hitting the rim by accident. Any advice.
Amazing video series!! I first learned to play this beautiful instrument at the ripe young age of 11. I was only ever a basic level. I feel this video series might take me to the next level. It never leaves ya, but i wanna go further. Thanks for these instructions
What about making the word start on a different part of the timing like accenting the second vowel sound starting the word coffee on the fee with a different part of the count .
Greetings from México! I´ve just traveled to Ireland and I bought my first bodhran 💚 I´m a drummer, your videos are helping me to understand the real sound of the bodhran!
Very well introductory video on time signatures. Just watched a stupid video of a drummer explaining the time signatures and i kid you not his demo of the common time signatures was quite comprehensive- sounded more like different beats smooshed together!
Thank you for your videos, they are great! What would be a good first bodhrán ? I want to start playing it. I'm a guitarist and pianist, play this percussion is something I want to add to my skills. Greetings from Paris.
I'm learning to play tammorra - it's a wonderful instrument. I learned from Alessandra Belloni and I think she would love this series. BTW do you know who the group of drummers in blue shirts is (at the 12:20 mark). They remind me a lot of Aainjaa from Colombia.
@@randomnotes thank you for watching, and the kind words! The group was just a local samba band we passed by chance whilst walking around the city. Unfortunately I have no specific information, but it sounds like a derivative of samba enredo to me. Keep drumming and all best! Ruairi
