last year they kept 6 Smith Ward Metellus Jackson Cine Bynum They have Mettellus listed at Nickel Back currently and have Bobby McCain as the 6th safety
JJ McCarthy was clearly always going to be a huge Kwesi bust. Nothing about JJ McCarthy has changed accept that he may be a little more injury prone . I do see JJ McCarthy getting injured again next season .
I would say the QB tandem Of JJM DARNOLD, OR DARNOLD JJM..... with the progression of JJM you had two viable options, if Darnold faltered you had a guy you would be comfortable going to. So now Darnold is just the one x factor
They keep saying “What Flores want” from what a lot of the D players say, he basically let those guys make decisions on there own, and THATS why he wants smart ppl, its not to remember everything but its basically like, if u see this, handle it.
1. Thor gets it with Cine and Judd does not get it with Cine, simple as that. Judd has been building his life for six months around dissing Cine, shaking his head gravely and all that nonsense. Man, is he going to look bad in a year with regard to the guy. (The Vikings will also look bad if they let him go for anything less that a second round pick.) 2. These concerns about the "mental aspects of his game" are a classic example of over-analysis and/or just b.s.'ing to fill up time on a podcast. If you have a guided missile, you point it in the direction you want it to go, you light it, and you watch it go. The classic example of this is Lawrence Taylor. Another example is Floyd Peters' approach to the Viking pass rush circa 1987-88. 3. It's not pronounced "lou-ee." "Lou-ee" is a way to pronounce "Louis." Cine is "Lewis" and pronounces his name "lou-is." 4. If the Vikings can't get the most out of Cine, the onus is on them -- i.e., Brian Flores -- not on Cine.
Flores isn't working with the same Cine that Donashell was working with BEFORE the injury. At this point, the onus being solely on Flores is disingenuous.
Given the depth and the fits at Safety, I'd be curious what the trade options are to pick up 2025 draft picks. What can you get for Cine after his showcase this preseason? If Ward and Theo Jackson ball out, can you get a haul for Cam Bynum given his immense contract value for coming years?
I really hope they keep him, he has unique skills. Also if you wanna make the culture even better, believing in a rookie after he breaks his leg will do it
Takia has taken on double teams and wins the battle, and still tackle the rb....and he fills a need that is lacking on the team.....again i have only seen him in preseason against 3s & 2s.......havnt seen his practise of mixed practices
Love Thor, but his logic for keeping Cine is, in my opinion, exactly why Cine doesn’t fit in a Flores defense; all the players who play for BC talk about how fun it is for them, because there aren’t as many rules and they can just be instinctive. They also talk about how they need to be able to play multiple roles. If Cine has to play downhill and isn’t an instinctive player… that’s basically the exact opposite of the type of player that fits into a Flores defense.
I gathered one thing from this episode. JJ Mcarthy won’t be a star. Thor talked about LEWIS CINE the same way he does about Jmac. I love Thor but he needs to get into the sales trade because he’s VERY convincing 😅
