Hi dear please answer my question, my case is in federal. I have working rights but not holding ceo as I m waiting to to apply for partner visa. So which insurance I should go for until I apply for partner visa
I would highly suggest you to visit any insurance office to get an idea about the type of insurance u can have. If you are concerned about the cost, after u know the type of insurance u need, u can always check the rates other insurance companies are offering for the same type of policy cover. And then, choose what suits you.
My family is with Bupa. My mum & dad are here to visit me and we pay $364 per month. I would suggest getting a quote for a standard cover from 2-3 places, compare it and check if it has what your family needs.
As far as I know, students have to pay the full amount of insurance fees required for the full term of the course. Say, your course is 2 yrs long, then u have to pay for 2 yrs of insurance in advance, before you come.
Hi Kavita, I hope you do well, , if 485 visa applicants are visiting overseas can he suspend health insurance while overseas, any effect on his 485 Graduate work Visa ? If you know about it please let me know. Thanks
I'll be arriving in Australia a month before my oshc starts which is arranged by university itself. Can i buy a new oshc from a different provider for this starting month or should I go for a date change? Tried calling oshc provider which is arranged by university for a date change but didn't get any reply. So buying a new policy from a different provider for 1 month is a good option ?
Hey I am international student pursuing my masters in Perth.I have a single OSHC now.Curently my family my son and husband are planning to come to australia for dependant visa.So is it compulsory to change my oshc to family OSHC.I heard that it's so expensive can you please help me for the same. Thanks and Regards Sneha
There is a question not related to the topic. can you please tell me I need to make sure of it. While applying for the 500 subclass student visa and preparing the OSHC for me and my wife, can it be a singular cover for each of us? As you know, the couple's cover is expensive. However, I heard that the immigration is accepting a separiate singal OSHC for both of us but the insurance companies will not. If this is the case, how do I get benefits from the OSHC insurance when I arrive in Asuralia?
Have you checked with the insurance company? Me and my husband had separate ones at the start and we didn't have any problem. Check with the company you have insurance from. The benefits should still be same.
@@kavitashresthaofficial thx for the reply the insurance companies are not straight in their answers however I got to know via an insurance provider and. Migration agent that we can get separate single oshc due to rules of home affairs but the main applicant is the only one that is getting benifts from the cover while the partner is not. Those instructions companies are really sickmindwd sorry to say that .... They want to Force couples to get couple oshc which is 7Xcost ... Which increasingly the oshc cost raised in a dramatic insane way ...
@@Osamah2008 I know, it's disheartening to see how some insurance companies can literally drain you. In terms of benefits, if your partner gets a separate insurance cover, she will get the benefits that are outlined in the policy which would be same as yours even if she is not the main applicant (from my personal experience). Have a good day!
@@kavitashresthaofficial thank you very much for interactions appreciated advice.... The time we got visa approved will get back and coment here. May god blesses you. Have a great day and happy life
Hi.. Got TSS 482 Visa. Heading to Sydney on October. i have some questions. can i show private Health insurance and kids educational fees in the tax exemption?
Hi Raja, congratulations on your visa! As far as I am aware, you can claim for private health insurance tax rebate, meaning you will get some amount back when u claim that on tax. However, schooling expenses are not tax deductible for kids. Public schools are almost free for PR holders and citizens. But, there will be fees for students on any other visa. Best wishes to you and your family 😊
Hey, thanks for the information. I have a query, my OSHC start date is 27th of July, can i arrive in Australia before that? Can I amend the start date of OSHC?
Hi Rasengan, as far as I am aware one of the student visa conditions is to have OSHC when u land here. That means you can start OSHC before arriving in Australia and adjust the date after coming. Best would be to talk to your consultancy. OSHC only starts the day you land in Australia, so you will get your money back for days before that. I hope that make sense. All the best! 😊
Hello, wonderful video. I have got the best possible OVHC for my parents that are coming over to Australia in the coming months with Allianz- do you think that it's worth it considering the waiting period? They are quite healthy for their age however have had a few heart issues in the past. Wondering if I made the wrong decision? Any help would be amazing!
I think you have done the right thing. Sometimes even if people have nothing diagnosed, life can throw anything at anytime. So, even with waiting period for some of the services, I feel it's still worth it and Allianz is a good option. I have seen people in visitor visa diagnosed with cancer during my placement days. And the bed charge is about $2000-$2500 per day even in a govt. hospital for a visitor. Image that cost out of pocket!
Hi I have also done my graduation( art stream) from india but born in nepal and wanted to do nursing.please suggest some university that accept students who are not from science stream or things I need to do for the admission . it will be very helpful.
Hi Sakura, did you want to study nursing in Australia? Most of the universities here accept students from other streams in nursing. Most challenging part would be to find a reliable registered consultancy for the application process. I got caught with a fake one and wasted a lot of my time in my initial days.
Hi . Can you please guid . When a pragnent lady traveling to Australia on visitor visa can she apply for any insurance and what if she had to give birth during that period of stay . How can she cover the hospital and other expenses
Hi Zeeshan, firstly I am not an insurance expert. So, any information I provide would be purely from either my own experience or from internet. As far as I know, most of the insurance policies for visitor visa doesn't cover cost related to pregnancy and birth. The ones that do, has waiting period of 12 months, before which they would not cover pregnancy related cost.
@@kavitashresthaofficial Thanks kavita . Yeah According to my research there are waiting period of 12 months therefore i wanted to ask those who may have gone though situation. Thanks anyway ,👍👍👍
Hi Range Loner, following link may help you find the answer www.health.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/2020/06/overseas-student-health-cover-oshc-explanatory-guidelines-for-consumers-oshc-explanatory-guidelines-for-consumers.pdf As far as I know, Chemist warehouse provides prescription meds at cheapest price in Australia. So, you can check the cost of the medicines you are taking in their website www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/ Hope it helps!
Hi Ruwan, I am not a professional in this area. However, I found this interesting website where you can compare different oshc policies as per your need. Hope it helps! oshcaustralia.com.au/en
Hello Kavita, I am hoping your husband must be better now. My wife is coming to Australia to pursue her masters and I and my daughter will be accompanying her. I am a diabetic patient, want to know if medicines are covered in insurance? Also, if we are infected and Covid positive, then is it free under the health insurance?
Hi Hardik, good to hear you guys are coming here. OSHC covers medicines under pharmaceutical benefit scheme upto some extent. It varies from policy to policy and also if you have a standard hospital cover or have extras associated with it. If anyone is infected with COVID and admitted in hospital, he/ she will be given inpatient services similar to admission with any other condition. Waiting period may apply for few services. Please note, I am not an insurance expert. Please read your policy thoroughly. All I can do is provide you a link of an example of oshc policy. Hope that helps!
hii kavita, i just want to know i m a student in australia and i m pregnant and wanna insurance for my pregnancy and delivery could please suggest me how to get insurance for this as i have already a insurance from OSHC Bupa. please reply it is very important for me, as now i m india hopefully next month i will be in Australia.
Hi Himani, your Bupa OHSC doesn't start until you are here in Australia and there is a waiting period upto 12 months after your policy starts. Most of the policies here have this criteria, however with Allianz OHSC there were few benefits available until few years back. You can check with them for an updated one. All the best dear!
Can you please give me information on cost of copper IUD in Australia? Is it better to go for it in Nepal or in Australia? as I’m still in Nepal. please help
Hi Kavita, hope your husband is doing well. Sorry to hear about such bad experience you had to go through. Are you not covered by Medicare if you are a PR? I'm applying for Medicare on 491 visa and was planning to discontinue OVHC from the previous visa. Please suggest if I should discontinue my OVHC.
Hi Jasmine, things are better now. Unfortunately, we didn't have our PR when that happened. I think after PR, it depends on you whether you want to continue with your private health insurance or not. I personally prefer to have one, so that I don't have to wait too long even for non urgent procedures. However, the cost varies according to your location in Australia. Also, consider how good your public health system is in your locality before you make decision. Good luck :)
Hi Maulik, as far as I know, if you are an international student, you are not eligible for Medicare. Hence, you don't have to pay Medicare levy or Medicare levy surcharge. So, you will get full 365 days of exemption.
Someone can easily hack your account.. you showed all the answers to the security questions... you didn't even blurred your email address neither your phone number.. don't be this dumb..
Thank you Suraj for expressing your concern. I was really dumb, I guess I didn't think it through well. I have updated it after your comment. Also, I don't actually use this mygov account. So, hopefully that will save me a bit. I am still learning!
