Albuquerque Fire Rescue is an all-hazards ISO Level 1 fire department located in New Mexico. It is the largest fire department in New Mexico with 704 uniform personnel running out of 22 fire stations and serving an area of 189.5 square miles with a population of approximately 900,000.
I got into search and rescue little over 4 years now with a local team here in Albuquerque. It is amazing to see so many different agencies work together. Great podcast! Make more on Episodes on hike gear and essential items people should carry
You cannot overdose on kratom! It has a ceiling effect where your body won't absorb anymore. Stop spreading lies. They overdosed on some other drug.. stop spreading lies
You're missing the entire point of HOW DOES EMS TREAT THIS? They are very clear on how they need to learn more about this substance and how it affects the body. Were you there on this call where this kid almost lost their life? Btw tox came back with No Other Substance as stated in the podcast. G’day ya great young fellow
What caused the seizure? Was he using plain leaf cGMP Kratom? Or was he using high concentrated extracts? OR, was he using research chemicals masquerading as Kratom? Because all of the above are being sold. We need regulations! #KeepKratomLegal
Two friends of mine who were previously addicted to opioids both passed away unexpectedly in their sleep and both come to find out later on were taking high amounts of Kratom. I can’t prove for certain that this was the reason why they passed away but both were young adult men who were relatively healthy. I think this stuff is dangerous and needs to be regulated.
Not all Kratom is created equal. There’s lab-tested or adulterated leaf powder, there’s liquid and powdered extracts, there’s new synthetic 7-hydroxymitragynine tablets that are hitting the smoke shops. You need to find out which Kratom they consumed.
I’m aware that the FDA often claim that Kratom may cause seizures, but I’ve never been convince that is from Kratom alone. What I heard from a doctor who was familiar with Kratom and had worked in the ERs, he said that the seizures he’d seen were from those coming off opioids, but they blamed it on kratom they may have been using to ease the w/d. (correct me if I’m wrong).
FDA scientist shows that kratom does not cause respiratory depression. NIH published and peer reviewed as well Kratom Respiratory Safety Confirmed: Study Utilizes FDA Oxycodone Comparison Model. "Oxycodone administration produced significant dose-related respiratory depressant effects and pronounced sedation with 1 death each at 60 and 150 mg/kg. Mitragynine did not yield significant dose-related respiratory depressant or life-threatening effects" “Consistent with mitragynine’s pharmacology that includes partial µ-opioid receptor agonism with little recruitment of the respiratory depressant activating β-arrestin pathway, mitragynine produced no evidence of respiratory depression at doses many times higher than known to be taken by humans.” Respiratory effects of oral mitragynine and oxycodone in a rodent model Jack E Henningfield et al. Kratom is helping people get off meth. That’s a good thing! Ameliorative effects of alkaloid extract from Mitragyna speciosa (Korth.) Havil. Leaves on methamphetamine conditioned place preference in mice. Conclusions: These findings demonstrated that KT alkaloid extract significantly reversed CPP scores and LFP patterns induced by METH administration. The ameliorative effects of the extract might be beneficial for treatment of METH craving and addiction. Hey guys, I said the same thing on the last video, but some people don't know what your codes are, so what it means to be dispatched to a 12D. Last time you mentioned it in the description and it would be great if that was there for all videos
Hopefully there were no injuries to anyone related to this incident, Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.
I really enjoy watching these videos, but I am not familiar with these call ("65A, kind of an 8C") codes. Could you please translate those for us unfamiliar viewers? That would be great, thanks
65A is a Mutual Aide call. This was a Mutual Aide Call to assist NM Gas. 8C is a Carbon Monoxide/Inhalation/Hazmat Call. Thank you for your comment! This will be added to the description.
@@jmWhyMe “extreme heat”. The garage had been converted to living space and they tried advancing but were unable to make the push into garage. The built up rain roof also made it difficult to access the fire in the void.
In the beginning they mentioned that 911 was called again after a previous call. For all the crews knew, the patient could have still been in the middle of an emergency and the crew had a duty to respond. Thank you for your question.
structure already compromised by previous fire and from overhaul in previous fire even if and thats a big if you get the upperhand on it someone probably gonna set it on fire again better to just protect exposure and let it go probably the land owner set it or had someone set it cheaper to clean up a pile of ash and brick now they can sell the land easier although with the empty lots around it does not seem anyone in a hurry to develop the area
Fires are caused by a wide variety of factors. If arson is suspected our Fire Investigations team will make the determination. Our primary objective is to protect life and property. Thanks for the comment!
My Grandfather Secondo (Zeke) Novaria was with AFD from the 1920's to around 1940 when he transferred to KAFB Fire Department to become an Ass. Chief. To this day I have only one photo of him. I wish AFD had an extensive archive of photos available to the public. I believe he was a lieutenant when leaving AFD. KAFB says they have no historical photos.
