I own both of them. Both are good. For a light beard, I normally use series 7 because it's not for heavy beard. But for 5+ days beard, I go for series 9 pro. But I like the attachments of the series 7. I have now a Trimmer and face brush. And you can buy others as per your need. But in the end, both are Saviors. 😊
I don't have the Braun Series 9 Pro+ yet. However, the only difference is the upgraded attached trimmer. I will do the 9 Pro vs the S9000 Prestige very soon.
@@ShaverDude I looked everywhere on the internet, but I couldn't find out how easyclick body groomer head performs on the body. You are the only one who produces content on this subject. I don't know, it could be arms or legs, I'm just wondering how much body hair it can cut.
@@atakanocak9767 The EasyClick Body Groomer is quite new; it has only been available for a couple of months. I do have a couple other regular body groomers and I think the EasyClick performs just as well as those. It is maybe a little more narrow than the Philips Norelco Body Groom 7000, but it cuts just as well. Note, the EasyClick body groomer does not get you smooth to the skin. It leaves 1mm of hair. I was very impressed with it.
I have a Philips series 3000 wet/dry rotary shaver and a Braun series 3 330 dry foil shaver; both shavers are just great, the Philips is excellent when shaving a 4 to 5 days grown beard, and the shaver will tackle the facial hair without any problem, the Braun shaver is wonderful for a every day or any other day morning shave ritual; I must say that the Braun will give me a much defined and close shave than the Philips and again, the Braun is much better if I shave every day, the Philips shaver can give me a bit (no that much) of irritation if I shave every day with it, but both shavers Philips and Braun are just wonderful shavers that can give you close, clean, smooth and redness free shaves every time. PS: try to use a "pre-electric lotion" before shaving, I promise you'll get a much closer and smoother shave than doing the shaving on bone-dry skin; I normally have a dry shave but I splash the pre-electric lotion (sometimes called pre-shave) and the results are much better; try it and you will see it and feel the difference.
I have heard good things about the pre-shave lotions. And yes, the Braun Series 3 does get closer than the Norelco 3000. Maybe you should try the Braun Series 5. It is close in price to the Series 3, but it has more power.
Hi. I'm deciding whether to use a electric shaver over a blade. I'm looking at the Braun 7 over the Panasonic only because of price but I'm wondering do any of them cut as close as a blade?
Honestly, The Braun Series 9 Pro and the Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige get as close as a blade, but they are both very expensive. The Braun Series 7 is a great shaver, but it does not get quite as close as a blade.
So the cleaning solution for the cleaner.. I don't see that being an easy find. Do you think someone could just add like rubbing alcohol or something once it runs out?
I think the rubbing alcohol is not a good idea. I do think all the Norelco shavers use the same cleaning solution pod, so it should be pretty easy to find. Amazon sells a 4 pack. Honestly, I have all the cleaning stands for my shavers and I just run them under water after each use. Maybe I should try the cleaning stands, but I don't think they are necessary. But maybe if I use the stand and solution, the shaver would last longer? I might have to make a few videos with the cleaning stands.
Appreciated, although a very weak and nearly useless review, some aspect was somewhat useful to me. If u are a real person, I never leave feedback so use this advice and shave that stupid ass strip down the top of your head and just get comfortable being bald and people will take you more seriously. I had same problem and didn’t want to shave, as my head was clearly balding. But u look like a twat by keeping it like that. Let it go, stop thinking so much, ur bald head will be fine and isn’t as bad as you think it is. Less u care the more ass u will get. Cheers
@@musarratbhatti3669 the Braun Series 7 shavers are nice shavers, not as good as the Series 9, but definitely worth the $100-$200 Price range Sometimes they go on sale for $99, that is a great deal
I would say the top 2 brands are: Braun and Phillips Norelco. Panasonic is a close 3rd place but they don't have as many shaver options as the top 2 brands. Some other brands to consider: Wahl, Remington, Andis, Manscaped.
@@ShaverDudePanasonic arc shaves better in tests than Braun series 9 and costs much less. Panasonic doesn't have advertising like Braun. Philips works great with stubble, but it's worse with one-day-old beard and it doesn't shave as close to the skin as Braun or Panasonic. sandpaper remains on the face. Panasonic shaves closer to the skin than Braun and has 5 knives in a shaver several times cheaper than the Braun 9 pro+ series. Panasonic is very profitable. watch the reviews on RU-vid where people have shaved half their faces with Braun and Panasonic. or another shaver, e.g. Philips vs Panasonic. Panasonic wins. Braun has only great washing stations. but it is several times more expensive.
The Braun Series 9 Pro vs Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige is a comparison I hope to do in the next couple weeks. I honestly do not know which one will win that battle. I have loved the Braun Series 9 Pro, but the S9000 has been very impressive so far. I think both those shavers will outperform the Panasonic Arc 5, but they are both much more expensive than the Arc 5. Great Question though.
@@ShaverDude I own a Braun Series 9 Pro & Panasonic Arc 5. Braun Series 9 Pro wins the battle. But Panasonic Arc 5 is undoubtedly a great shaver and I like it. I want to add Philips S900 Prestige to my collection though I am a traditional wet and electric foil shaver guy. But I believe Rotary Shaver will work great. Thanks for your reply.🙂
@@ShirazAhmed82 I used to prefer the foil shavers, but I would say this: give the S9000 a couple attempts. It takes about 2-4 shaves before I got used to it. I love the S9000 Prestige now.
@@ShaverDude I ordered one from eBay. With a normal charger. Not with a wireless charger. However, I am not a fan of wireless chargers in any gadget. I have Braun Series 7 (New one), Series 9 Pro, and Panasonic Arc 5.
The Philips 3000 series includes the 3500, 3600, 3800, and 3900. And maybe a few more. So, yes, yours is probably very similar to the 3800 in the video. It might be a different color though.
Oh no, I do not think I would recommend either for body grooming. For body grooming, use a tool designed for body grooming like the Philips Norelco Bodygroom 7000 or a Manscaped. See this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qjyAixCVNag.html Or the Braun Series 5 has a body groomer attachment which works pretty well. www.creatorvertex.com/storefront/ryanswanstrom/product/braun-series-5--5150cs
My first shave with the Manscaped did not go well. The trick with the Manscaped is to lean the shaver so I am only using the foil shaver side. It takes a bit longer to shave but I had less razor burn that way. Still, though, I would agree, the Manscaped has a great travel size, but there are better choices for an every day shaver.
I think the Braun Series 9 Pro gives the closest and most comfortable shave. However, I just got the Norelco S9000 Prestige, and it might be close. Anyhow, I don't think it is foil vs rotary. Both can give a good shave, and both get better the more you spend.
That is a great question. I just got the 3900 (2 days ago) and have not even opened it yet. I have used the 3800 occasionally over the past 3 years. The 9800 gets a significantly closer shave than the 3800. Plus, the 9800 has more power and many more cutting actions per minute. That means quicker shaving with less passes over your face; this reduces shave irritation. So, there really are differences in the shavers as you spend more money. You get a closer shave and less irritation. Right now, I think the Braun Series 9 Pro (around $300) is above all the rest, as is the price, but it really is noticeably better than the others. However, Philips Norelco has a new S9000 Prestige which looks promising. Thanks for the great question and the follow. I maybe should make a video about this topic.
Thanks for the more detailed explanation of the different attachments and the different modes! You’re the only reviewer that I’ve found to talk about these things. Very helpful!
Its good to see a dry shave comparison and very helpful i think i will buy the 9 series but is there any difference in wet shaving?. Less irritation, closer? 0r just faster. There is a good deal on the 9385 for £180 with a cleaning station. Not the newest model but seems like a bargain. Normally a safety razor guy but hopefully this will be close enough.
The Braun Series 9 is a great shaver. It is as close as you can get to blade. I think it gets just as close. The Braun Series 9 (9400 series) has a slightly redesigned head to better accomodate 5-7 day beards, so if you plan to wait 5 days between shaves, the 9400 might be the way to go. I do not think wet shaving is any faster, but I think it feels smoother with less irritation.
I came across your channel the other day I'm in the UK 🇬🇧 your doing a great job with all the different shavers reviews...keep up the good work my man.
Great vids I feel the Panasonic seems more quality but the norelco has really great reviews omg help. Probably maintenance and the ease of getting parts will make me lean one way. I would appreciate your advice thanks
Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either. The Braun Series 9 Pro is just in a class of its own, but the price is high. I will say this, between the Norelco 9800 and the Panasonic ARC 5, I choose the Panasonic ARC 5. I should maybe make that video.
I’m thinking either this Phillips or the Panasonic is a bit cheaper with cleaning station at 150. It looks real premium but so do the other flagship brands
I am a huge fan of the Panasonic ARC 5. I do not have a heavy beard, and the Panasonic works fantastic. I have heard the Panasonic is not the greatest for people with a heavy and fast growing beard.
@@ShaverDude They are all really great I’m late to the party honestly I don’t need it since my beard is light but as I’m getting older I think it’s time Braun is great but really expensive I’ll probably get the arc5 it’s really great design and well made looks premium
Honestly, I think Panasonic, Norelco, and Braun are all easy to get replacement blades for. Honestly, the only one I have replaced blades in so far is a Norelco 3800, and that was because I damaged a blade. It was easy to replace. So, I don't have a great answer for this yet. I have so many different shavers I use, none of them really wear out, at least not in the 2 years I have been using them. Most brands do recommend replacing after 12-18 months.
Honestly, neither shaver works very well if you have a 3 or 5 day beard. That is why I recorded the video with fairly short facial hair (likely a day).
Agreed, most Electric razors dont do much if you go 3 or more days without shaving. Unless maybe you spend $ 300 or more, which im not willing to do @ShaverDude
I am a senior citizen who still has a heavy beard. I have used pretty much everything in the last 50+ years. I satarted with a Sunbeam shaver if that tells you anythin. I have had the most expensive norelco, the less expensive norelco that uses lotion, a few Panasonic razors including their first wet/dry shavor. I was gifted the most expensive Braun about 25 years ago. My daily razor for about the last 5+ years is a Panasonic es-lt41. It was pretty expensive when i bought it. It is the best shavor I have ever used. I was looking for a shavor to travel with and purchased a Braun series 5 on Amazon and returned it. I ended up buying a Braun 310, their least expensive shaver. This is just a treavel and backup. These two savers are not at the same price point as the norelco is twice the price. I would advise you to buy whichever one feels the best in your hand. Also, It is much easier to travel with a foil sver in your travel kit as it is shaped much flatter.
You seem like a good guy, but you need a profile picture for your account and you kinda have to speak faster. That intro was slow some people just go to the next video
thanks, I think I am a good guy too. I do need a profile picture, so I should do that this weekend. Thanks for the tip on a quicker intro. I will work on that.
