Also, Not kennt kein Gebot…
Also *nicht* flugtauglich. This is a clear case of pilot in experience unfortunately the operators hire pilots with little hours and little experience thinking they are the better candidates as they can teach them what they want done, you can not beat high time experienced pilots. Stop hiring low time pilots, just because they may have a degree in sociology fresh out of school doesn't make them a better pilot!
Paul Wilkes High time pilots cut the most corners and are the cocky ones. The ones I've flown with don't even use the checklists and Im constantly seeing switches and lights still engaged when I go to fly. Low time pilots go by the book because they have literally no other option. This was without a doubt a high time pilot.
Sloth55Chunk unfortunately all the books in the world will not help an inexperienced pilot get out of potential problems arising whilst flying. I'd much rather fly with a pilot who forgets the odd light switch on his checklist but is able to tap into his/her vast flying experience to get out of unforeseen deadly problems. Sounds like you are the typical back seater who thinks they know everything about flying I think you'd be surprised how many times that high time pilot has saved your life and you don't even know it be thankful you are flying with someone with experience and not someone who can only refer to page 57 paragraph 3 on what to do.
Paul Wilkes Youre missing my point with your hard on for high time pilots. When Im in the ship, Im flying. I dont take a backseat. And do you honestly think a conpany would hire a low time pilot to fly a turbine like this and clear them for off airport landings on ski slopes?
Sloth55Chunk yes 'companies' do hire low time pilots to do these type of operations I've seen it especially in the US if you look at most job requirements they only ask for the minimum 1500hrs 500turbine etc.. this is low time in my opinion and factually a pilot is most at risk between 1000-2000hrs so do a little research before replying with an blanket statement about hiring pilots and as you claim to be a 'pilot' and not a back seater lets try to keep the 'hard on' immature comments to a minimum shall we?
Paul Wilkes 1000-2000 hours is low time? Jesus dude what dream world are you living in? I think youre just bitter that nobody wants to hire crusty 5,000 hour retirees.
