Guys, I was just checking to see if it was clear. I was done for the day wiping down the outside of the gun, my gun oil was 4.5 hours away.. But I appreciate the info
I've never looked into the other relay honestly. Maybe the interior light relay? I would check the pinout and current rating on any relay you plan to substitute it with. If I recall, the original relay wasn't that expensive.
Hey can anyone help? Replaced the blue signal flasher underneath the dash, the combination signal arm on the column and I STILL have no signal lights! Flashers and brake lights work, thanks
A lot of good info in this video. I just hate to tear my old cars apart so I took the lower panel off and went under the dash on my back and was able to find these relays. I cut off the tape from the factory and used my channel locks to yank out the relay and replace it. This video gave me enough information so I could get the job done without taking a lot apart, Thanks.
Or just reach up in there and pop the cap off remove the original flasher relay and replace with new one pop cover back on and carry on less than 3 minutes. I have done it on both of my 10th gen f150s and my 99 expedition.
That's what I need to do on my gfs truck. I dont know Alot about fixing cars but this seems easy. I'm still trying to figure out what size to get or get it from exactly
Thanks for the clear, concise video. The black relay in that box is the Blower Relay, which I need to access the wiring for. Thanks again for a clear, straightforward how-to
Thank you! You are the only one who actually explained the job perfectly. I changed this on my truck in about 30 minutes. The two screws holding the relay out of reach is the ticket .
Not really sure, there are two relays down there. But I believe on is flasher, the other relay is the turn signals. I found this though. www.etrailer.com/question-131907.html
Even 5 years later, this video is still helping solve this issue. My son's 1999 Expedition was having the same issue. Your explanation made the repair a breeze and took no time to fix. So now good to go. Thanks again.
You're welcome. I've learned a lot from others out here as well, just adding to the collective. I can't belive it got this many hits. I still have the truck and that flannel shirt, lol.
Ray Kasprowicz oh man, I found it on a Porteques Ham's website. I didn't like it all that well, the performance wasn't all that great on receive from what I can remember. I bought a 7300 last year.
i just replace that one and got my turning signals working but now my horn is not working is the smaller relay next to the big one associated with the horn ?
sometimes we get lucky and it's an easy part and other times not so much as I recently found out.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--U6_DJ7iYZE.html
Sorry but I'm no mechanic, maybe try the relay. You could also try joining the ford truck forums and post the question there. www.ford-trucks.com/forums/index.php
For the record, many/most of you finding this video are looking for a yellow relay up and under the left side of the dash which can be replaced in 15 seconds with no removal of dash components.
Thanks for your comprehensive videos. I watched it 2 or 3 time before starting this project on my 1998 F250. Everything was the same as your 1990 Expedition. Job complete within 30 minutes. Thanks again. WWWDWY( What Would We Do Without RU-vid)
