The Grecian states and territories were conquered by the Roman Empire because Grecian formations would solely rely on formations of Hoplites, whereas the Romans almost always had a mix of Calvary and Archers/Artillery alongside their advanced foot soldier tactics and revolutionary new armour that was far superior to whatever Greek soldiers wore at the time.
