Where did you find that helli hike is rated top 3 activities in the world?! I’m planning a 4-6 week trip to see both island in November 2025 with a car rental. When do you advise on booking hotels and activities? If I book in advance it doesn’t offer me flexibility if weather changes the circumstances. Should I just pay when I do that activity? Or book online? Paying at the venue offers flexibility but don’t want to miss out if no open spots. For Franz Josep helli hike will there be a high chance that I have to reschedule? Also I need help with road map and itinerary. Your advice is greatly appreciated! Great video! Here is what I do know what i want to do. Auckland for a few days for rest. Sky tower, Mt. Eden, Rangitoto Coromandel- Cathedral Cove, Hot Water beach, Rotorua- Rafting, Zorb, Redwood Treewalk, Wai O Taoupo, Waitomo gloworm, Tongario Alpine Crossing, Wellington, Cable car,Mt. Victoria lookout,Cuba St.Lampton Quay Fox glacier- helli hike, Mt. Cook- Hooker Valley Queenstown a few days- Bunjee jumping, jet boat, Milfound Sound- Mirror lakes, Marion Falls, P.S. Would like to do stargazing. Any recommendations on where on the way to these spots?!
It was online! I think you should try book some in advance. We just went for it and some nights we didn’t know if we were going to be sleeping in the car 🤣 but you can always adjust on the day or closer I’m sure the hotels will let you! The heli hike is always going so I don’t think you’ll have to reschedule! The map is super easy there is basically 1 road that goes all the way around the island and 1 that crosses the island! That sounds awesome! I don’t know any other spots than where we stayed but you can go to any hostel/motel/hotel just make sure the reviews are good! Thank you very much for the support!
Thank you so much for the support bro I really appreciate it! You are part of a beautiful part of the world you should be really proud of that! I'll be back soon!
At 2:00 it is a feeder canal to the La Nicolère reservoir which came from about 40 kms away. Some places the canal goes underneath the ground 'concrete slab' over it.
Hey! Thank you so much for asking me. Unfortunately this is how I make my living so I can’t give it away for free. I hope you understand and you have my respect for asking me 🙏❤️
1:50 was great BUT we where dropped in front of them, came underneath us (5m-10m) and kept on swimming… We couldn’t keep up or catch up… They did this 3x and same story… Was great but they do their thing in the wild and we can watch… Went to zoo and did walk with lions and tigers… This was more close up but they are used to humans and are captive animals… Also must do
Hey Will, thanks for this great video! I was wondering if you have any suggestions regarding scuba diving on the island? We are looking at staying in Tamarin or Flic en Flac to be by the hiking spots, but we are also scuba enthusiasts. Please could you also write what the place was you suggest to go snorkelling in? I have no idea how to spell or say what you mentioned lol! Thanks a lot!
Hey Michelle! Thank you for your comment! In the next video I will write everything in the description 😂 tamarin is the best spot to stay for sure. Close to everything and if you go diving I would recommend the north or the south of Mauritius they have amazing dives, you can go through crystal divers Mauritius for the north. Or in tamarin you can go with tamarin ocean pro (I always use them they are great)! Hope this helps. If you are looking for an Airbnb I also have my apartment next to the beach in tamarin let me know 😊
@@willtevsI'll keep an eye out for that! Thanks so much for this. I've managed to book in tamarin. Needed a place for 7 people 😅 I've also started following Mauritius with Bart on Instagram and the whale content is just giving me life in cold Amsterdam right now 😅
Hi Will and Vic. Thanks for your reply of the 3rd Jan 2024. I was searching through my photo album containing many old photos dated back to 1969. To recap-from my photos of the ascent to the summit of Pieter Both, we were a group of friends climbing up the Pieter Both on that day. And we met a group of Mauritians on the summit of the mountain, there were 11 people on the summit including the one taking the pictures ( in black and white ). It was a fascinating experience, once in a lifetime. When I get a chance I shall post these pictures on RU-vid. All the best and Happy New Year 2024 to you all, Joseph/JClaude from the UK.
Hi Will and Vic, thank you for your reply on the 30 Dec 2023. Well noted your positive response about my comments on your achievement in climbing safely Pieter Both. I wish you good luck on your future adventures and wish you both a Happy New Year 2023. By the way I have been to the Seychelles twice in my days when I was working as a ships Officer in the Merchant Navy- the Mauritius Steam Navigation Company back in the 1970's. I had a pleasant visit to the Seychelles-pleasant memories. So long young guys.
Hi Will Tevs and Victoria Duthil, Its been a pleasure to watch your video on your climbing Pieter Both which went very well. My name is Joseph but back in Mauritius friends and family called me Jean Claude. Anyhow congratulations on your achievement which is exceptional as not many people can claim to have climbed to the top of Pieter Both. But I did climbed Pieter Both along with my friend Joseph who is now based in Montreal, Canada . That ascension of Pieter Both was some 54 years ago and we climbed the mountain without ropes or pick axes. For your info I am now based in UK since 1979. I did a commentary about Petr Podrozek who climbed Pieter Both in Feb 2023, the comment was posted on youtube some 5 days ago. Many congratulations again for this exceptional achievement and we always put our satefy first as top priority. Happy New Year to all. By the way from your previous postings, I guess that you have some connection with South Africa, which country I like very much as I visited Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and East London when I was working as an Officer in the Mauritius Steam Navigation Company based in Mauritius, the Maurutius Merchant Navy. Greetings to everybody, So long.
Hey Joseph! It’s super nice meeting you. Thank you so much for your support and positive feedback. The Pieter Both was always a dream of ours since we were young kids. I still remember driving by and asking myself if it was even possible to get to the top. It was the thing I most wanted to do/experience in Mauritius before the head falls off! Thank you for sharing your story. And I hope you are keeping well in the UK! All the best! Will and Vic 🇲🇺😊
@@willtevshaha definitely. Point Aux Sables is a poor area so it has always been cheap entertainment. My father is almost 70 and did it has a kid, and the kids before him also. You learn which part to jump so it might look scary but it's safe.
@@willtevs haha. Point Aux Sables is a poor area so its cheap fun. The only time its dangerous is when its really windy, I have family that have been there for many generations so its just normal haha
