Did you do any car improvements on the Ignis? Aftermarket customization? My intention is ti buy a Ignis nd I wanted to know if this car is really suited for off road purposes! Thx 🙏
Hello, yes I did. First remove the rubber stripe under the front bumper because you are going to rip it off anyway :) Second: get an aftermarket metallic skidplate, it will save your engine and gearbox. Third: lift it, I used aftermarket MP springs, taller & stiffer. Product codes here: front L39180-4, rear L39181-4. You can use other springs too (like MAD ones), but the MP springs lift the car the most (40 mm) and it's safe. And last put some decent AT or MT tyres on when you do off road, grip is the most important thing. I use the remoulded Italian MT tires Pneus Ovada Extreme 2, 175/65/15 on 15 inch steel rims. Use steel rims for off road not the alloy ones because those crack, the steel rims bend and can be rolled back in a specialized wheels shop. For any more questions I'm here.
@@jimmydk82 thank you! The only thing I got wrong was the fact that the central differential is not electronically controlled, it's a mechanical viscous coupling. The button on the dashboard just puts the electronics in a more aggressive setting to watch out for wheel slip.
I haven't realized that people are waiting for a new video, thank you for your appreciation ❤ I'll try to make a new video every month at least, I've been using my enduro motorcycle all this time and posted on my other YT channel.
Hi friend. I am from Greece and just bought an ignis allgrip hybrid for my wife. I would like to make it a bit "taller" in case of of road activities. I have bought 4 iron rims with 175/65/15 michelin alpin tires for now and i am thinking for lifting it up.How is the Mp springs compared with the stock ones? Is it ok for the daily driver in the city? Are more stiffer than the stock ones? Stock ones for the city are very nice!! Thanks!
Kalimera :) yes the springs are thicker and stiffer but ok for street use. I have recommended thrm to everyone. You will probably need a spacer for the rear shock absorbers or longer shock absorbers because of of the taller springs.
Hello, I'll do my best :) the steel rims are for Suzuki Baleno (15 inch in size) I've ordered them from a Romanian dealer I could try to put you in contact with him, same for the remoulded tyres they are from a Romanian dealer too. Let me know if you want their contacts l, I'm sure they speak English, if not I'll place the order on your behalf.
If they have the tires in 185/65R15 it would be perfect. malatesta kobra trac nt 185/65 r15 88 t I found these but they could not deliver to Greenland.
The tyre dealer has replied with some tyre options but unfortunately they don't ship to Greenland, but I can ask at the post office if they do. The tyres options they presented are: anvelope-neamt.ro/produs/185-65-r15-ms-equipe-trekker-simex-off-road-resapat/ and this one: anvelope-neamt.ro/produs/185-65-r15-ms-pneus-ovada-plus-2-resapat/
The tyres are Extreme tyres (copy of Maxxis Trepador) they are remoulded tyres made by a company in Italy, Pneus Ovada, model Extreme 2, size 175/65/R15
Great video and very useful! And congrats for your set up which is quite impressive! Do you think you could install a bigger tyre size? What do you think would be the limit? Thanks
Thank you! I'm at the limit with the tyres unfortunately, a wheel diameter of approximately 63 cm is the maximum for this car even if it's lifted. You are limited by the wheel arch size and suspension components in front. I'm very happy with this setup I'll maybe get another car for more hardcore tracks in the future.
I have the original wheels and tyres and the car is lifted, for off road I use a separate set of wheels 15 inch with off road tyres and they fit as well. But you can't go bigger than 63 cm wheel diameter, I hope I remember it correctly. To be sure measure the maximum wheel size with a ruler.
I don't know really :( but I didn't felt the need for a wider track even with all the hard lines I took while off-roading, the car felt stable, it doesn't want to roll over
I got taller MP springs, 40mm lift in the front and 45 mm lift in the back. Product codes: front L39180-4 and back L39181-4. Tyres are remoulded Italian tyres, Pneus Ovada Extreme 2, 175/65/R15
@@tinyadventuresoffroad thank you for your answers we also have a Suzuki ignis and are going to move to a place with barely roads so we need our car lifted and get all terrain tires.
It is possible but you mess with the front drive shafts angles and the only solution is to drop the engine & gearbox to keep everything ok. But why do you want such a tall car? Ignis lacks crawl gears, so it will never be an off roader, just a soft roader IMHO.
@@tinyadventuresoffroad our nature is pretty bumpy here in Greenland especially in the small villages so it would be perfect in the small vilages to have more height on the car.
That's about the same as the road up to our house, my Ignis 4x4 goes up and down it 6 times a day on the school and shopping run. Even more exciting when it's covered in snow for 4 months. Just brilliant.
The Ignis All Grip is a wonderful little car without any challange in his class. I just bought a brandnew one because the gracy regulations of the European Union made it impossible to continue sales in our region. In Germany the sales of the Ignis will be discontinued from August 2024 - unfortunately !
My friend THIS is adventure! Well done. I have some questions for you. Which winter tyres are you using and are they durable for this kind of roads? Everyone says that winter tyres are too soft in order to give traction on snow and ice. So how come you don't have a flat tyre? What about muddy roads? Do they find traction on mud?
I have an allgrip 2017 . I changed the springs with the Eibach springs(specific for Suzuki ignis Allgrip).I have also changed the rims with 15 inches and tires 185/65/15 . Overall the suspension is much better and more progressive . I am very satisfied with the result .
Excellent video. Very informative and interesting, thanks to the well done subtitles. Now I have a whole lot of videos to watch while I consider getting a Ignis.
Just had recent snow here in UK,my allgrip was impressive,no problems getting up hills, with the standard tyres...audi's and bmw's were skidding all over...Ignis..,brilliant car
Bought a 2018 Ignis yesterday. Live in southern Finland on the country side and I'm mightily impressed by how easily it gets through snowy and icy roads compared to our Ford focus FWD.
Don't be concerned, because it's a different system that locks itself as soon as it detects slip. And compared to a system with "lock" feature that uses a clutch pack for the central differential, Ignis has a viscous coupling for the central differential. It doesn't "overheat", it actually uses heat to make the connection even stronger. Plus it has a good electronics pack that almost mimics a locker for both axles.
