Great video! Why is water being sprayed in front of the vehicle?

Very cool video! Those caps that are in the nozzles for the SRBs, they are intended to keep moisture out of the chamber and to prevent accidental ignition of the solid fuel. The shuttle program brings back memories for me as a kid. I grew up watching the space shuttle launches, and I have a Houston Chronicle issue with Atlantis on the cover.

@SpaceX please review prior to the next launch of Starship, THIS is a proper flame trench, quench curtain and shock wave containment configuration. Love Starship, but it really needs a stage zero able to properly handle its absolutely awesome power!

The sound really gives you a good idea exactly how much power both the SRBs and main engines are exerting just to get the tiny thing into orbit.

At the 2:45 point in this video ,It's haunting that he said this on sts-133 about somebody possibly being killed a few years before because those beams were loose. The next mission sts-134 or maybe the very last mission sts-135 I believe it was, a guy was indeed killed on that pad 39-A...He fell to his death in some type of mishap but I'm not sure if it had anything to do with what this guy is talking about... Look it up.

Oh. My. God. I always knew that these vehicles were fettled and fussed over like you cannot believe, but to actually see it up close, on the pad, and every last square millimeter of it *still* looks utterly perfect...what a testament to the skill and pride that everyone who touched one of these things must have had.
